Of course I will eventually sign up. I figure at some point our UV rights will become MA rights, and UV will close. I'm just worried about losing popular features like D2D, M2D, instawatch, UV sharing, all pretty popular, consumer friendly features. With Disney seemingly in charge now, I'm not...
Am I the only one here that hasn't hooked up to MA? I'm still trying to figure out how this is going to help me. They say "finally your movies together"...but I already have that with UV/VUDU. I can sign up and port movies to other providers but Vudu will still be the only place that has them...
I'm thinking when UV started Disney's deal was either dead or dying...They re-started later, that's when they should have just joined UV but I'm thinking Disney and Apple had another deal in the works. They were never going to support UV.
If a re-naming, using keychest technology, is what it takes to get all studios on board along with all providers I'm all for it. Never say never but I doubt I'd move from Vudu though.
I haven't tried accessing Vudu on those devices, I don't think HDX is available for all small screens but, on a related note I tried accessing itunes on my S7 Edge and Roku and can't even get a 480 feed....yes total bullshit!
We all know I'm sure, that watching a digital copy doesn't = watching on a computer screen or phone right? I have 1400+ digital movies and only watch on a big screen.
^^^^^^^ Yep, didn't catch the Canada till later. You are also right on the UHD thing. UHD hasn't effected me since they made me choose between UHD and 3D, I chose 3D. Those are the only discs I purchase anymore. Everything else gets purchased directly from Vudu.
A few tips. Since you are already buying blurays including a digital copies you might as well redeem them, you never know what tomorrow brings and that doesn't cost anything. Most of the studios except Disney belong to UV. Regardless what the slip says take the code straight to Vudu to redeem...
I have purchased 1400+ digital movies/ TV series over the last few years. I stay away if they don't carry the UV logo though. The only discs I buy anymore are 3D since many are not found on digital and what they have the price starts high and just stays there on most titles.
They seem to have more Apps/Channels than they use to but, are still missing some. Is there private apps like Roku allows? How about a hard drive that can be used to download Vudu or others? I think it does 3D? which would be a plus... I don't need a gaming machine or plex, just a good streamer...
Don't assume he was talking about Warner joining Disney.....He thinks there should be one locker, not Disney's, then everybody else's..(UV)..easier for the consumer than having 2 lockers.
“It would be my goal to bridge [UltraViolet] with what Disney is doing, so the consumer doesn’t have to...
If Disney is what those families want, and they don't want to purchase, so they can have it where they want, subscribe to Hulu. I have Netflix and Amazon, and have tried Hulu a few times but didn't find myself using it so always cancel but, I almost never watch movies on any of those services.
I generally only purchase digital on Vudu's monthly sales but I think I did spend $26 on a digital movie once but, that is under $30 so I'm good, right?:P
I started doing that as I add new devices but, still have some unmarked. I'll have the new Roku Ultra tomorrow so I'll have one more marked, just have to guess at which one to delete though because it will make me.
It's been a pain for me. Every time I need to add a new device, like the new Roku ultra that just shipped, it will make me delete one first....problem is it's hard to identify what the devices are they list because none of the numbers match anything on other Roku's....When it says PS3, I know...
Apples best interest not to...ok, perhaps but, "And their customers interest for them not to?" I couldn't disagree with that more...This would be a big WIN for their customers....not sure how you could spin it otherwise.
Yeah, itunes was first but, we can't expect everybody to be forced to buy Apple products to use their digital library (assuming we are going all digital) I agree, Disney's system works well. The problem is, there was no reason for it. The system we need was already in place. The problem is...
I can understand the confusion if you started out with itunes....then all this other crap started. It would be a lot less confusing if one redemption would work every place......and that was the goal of Ultraviolet. Everybody got together and voted in UV, except Disney and Apple, of course. Then...
I guess I have never had issues with Roku, always looking for better though, is there another player that has most of the apps like Vudu, Amazon video and Google play?
