    Fandango purchases Vudu!

Disc + Digital has already gone away, but there were so many compalints, I'm not surprised. Just hope they keep Disc 2 Digtal around.

Studio Ghibli Films Available on iTunes

I doubt they will ever drop that low, but it would be nice. I really want them, but couldn't spend that much. I want a bundle of 10 for 99.99

Silent Movies The One Woman Idea and Honeymoon Hate?

Has anyone seen either of these movies? I know they were on TV at one point, because my grandmother had seen them, but I don't think they have been released on DVD or VHS. If they are, I'd love to know where I could buy them from, because I am somehow related to one of the actors, named Shirley...

Press Release Announcing the launch of MOVIES ANYWHERE

My titles have been corrected as well, except for Bambi, which I redeemed on the 11th.

Press Release Announcing the launch of MOVIES ANYWHERE

I hate to say I told you so... Someone said that UltraViolet sucked and that DMA\Keychest was how it was supposed to be done! This downgrade of titles never happened with UV.

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

It’s not industry gossip it’s a done deal! There’s already a list of 7000 titles that are marked as movies anywhere on Vudu and a lot of Sony titles are in the list. Graphics have been designed and code has been added to phone apps. There is a lot of evidence.

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

Vudu, Amazon, and YouTube apps are available on Playstation and the xBox.

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

That was the original plan with UV too, but it didn't happen. I used to be an optimist when it came to UV, but they didn't reach a lot of their stated goals. I am not going to get my hopes up that this new system will be a perfect system either.

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

Only 6200 movies on the list were UV, so that is 68%, not 78%. We are still missing movies from Lionsgate, Dreamworks Animation, Paramount, and MGM. If they don't get those studio's on board, they won't be able to replace UV with one digital locker for all our movies.

    Flixster Video Shuts Down

Rovi sold their Rovi Entertainment Store, which operated CinemaNow, Flixster, and the late Target Ticket to Reliance Majestic Holdings in 2013.

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

It's a new digital locker, not a new streaming provider, so whatever movies you own would transfer to your existing services, i.e. iTunes, Vudu, Amazon Video, Google Play, etc. The new digital locker has not even been announced yet, so there is no indication that it will not be explained...

Studios to Join Disney Movies Anywhere Platform?

This hasn't been officially announced yet, but a new "Movies Anywhere" service is being developed by the studios and retailers. All of the Major Studios have signed on, except for MGM, Paramount, and Lionsgate. One hopes they would join before this launches. They have already given MA status to...

Vudu Announces Mobile Disc to Digital

I have heard that they have fixed over a thousand codes since launch. They are rapidly expanding their database, so I would expect in a month or so to have far few errors on eligible titles.

Vudu Announces Mobile Disc to Digital

This is a good move. I know several people who couldn't use D2D because they didn't have a computer. I had to take my laptop to their house and do it for them. Now they can do it themselves. Also, these days fewer laptops come with disc drives. So this is nice for people who don't have access...

    FandangoNow Customer Service

Vudu will give you a refund if you ask, just say you are unsatisfied. As long as you haven't watched the whole movie, it shouldn't be a problem.

Apple Once Again Removes Select Movies from...

You can easily transfer your UV collection to an heir. Just give them your username and password, and they can merge it into their account. You can't transfer individual titles, but you can transfer your whole library. You could do the same with iTunes, but they wouldn't be able to merge the...

Going all Digital - Apple or Vudu advice?

The term Digital HD was a branding agreement that all the DEG member studio's agreed to. It is used to refer to any kind of digital copy that is included with a purchase, including UV, iTunes, or even an Amazon or Google Play redemption. And ultraviolet usage is not difficult to understand. I...

Apple Once Again Removes Select Movies from...

Apple has pulled the ability for users to donwload or stream select movies that they have purchased. Movies include Gone Girl, Birdman, If I Stay, and others. When will iTunes become a legitimate digital movie provider, and offer guaranteed movie streams for the life of the user, like Vudu? My...

Going all Digital - Apple or Vudu advice?

There are over 8,000 movies available for disc to digital from every major studio except for Disney and MGM.

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

You are really misrepresenting what he said. It couldn't be any more clear. What he said was, when a consumer buys something electronically, it needs to work everywhere. So they were NOT trying to kill iTunes. They were trying to preserve the digital sell-through market. They were trying to...

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

I don't understand why you keep posting the lie that UltraViolet partners wanted to kill iTunes. The purpose was so that if people bought movies on iTunes, they could also watch them on non-apple devices. And If you bought a movie on Amazon, you could watch it on your iPhone. It was to be...

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

The studio's pay Apple when you redeem a movie on iTunes, and they pay Vudu when you redeem a movie on Vudu. Even though you redeemed it at the Fox website, you still had to choose a provider, and the only options are Vudu, Flixster, and maybe CinemaNow or FandangoNow. Whoever you picked gets...

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

It's not the studio's who chose how UV turned out, it's the walled gardens. They chose to remain walled gardens, instead of supporting the industry standard.

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

I agree that DMA is better at delivering a universal digital locker than UV, but there are other features of UV that make it more useful to me. As long as Vudu is around, I don't really need to store my copy at multiple providers. If Amazon joined, I'd be ecstatic, because it would open up...

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

The original concept of UltraViolet was also if you buy an UltraViolet title, you would have access to it everywhere. It's the walled gardens that failed to get on board with UltraViolet, not the other way around. DMA probably was just better at negotiating behind the scenes to get the deals...

    Disney Movie Anywhere V.S. Ultraviolet

When DMA first came out, many digital media enthusiasts commented that DMA was better than the UV ecosystem because it was able to connect to iTunes. It later added Amazon, Google Play and Vudu. But DMA lacks many other important features that UltraViolet has. For instance, Disc to Digital and...

Just redeemed my first Fox 4K code, triple disappointment

Only Warner has UHD movies available on Vudu, so they are the only codes that will redeem in UHD. If you redeem your code on myuv.com you will get a UHD UV copy, so when it is available in UHD on Vudu, or another UV service, then it will import as UHD.

Streaming VOD providers are getting fewer and fewer

The sale of MGO to Fandango only increases it's user base. More people know about FandangoNow than ever knew about MGO. According to 3 different Flixster Customer Support Reps, they are not shuttering their service. It is owned by Warner Bros, and was not part of the sale to fandango. Their is...
