Press Release Warner Archive Press Release: A Star is Born (1937) (Blu-ray)

I hadn't remembered it was being shown at the Festival. Its surprising then that they are showing any version of the film on HBOMAX. To make a big splash at the Festival it would probably be better to make the film less available for a period before hand. Almost 50 years ago (I can't believe it...

Press Release Warner Archive Press Release: A Star is Born (1937) (Blu-ray)

"What Price, Hollywood" with Constance Bennett even in SD would have made a nice extra. Many think that is the true first version of "A Star Is Born". The male lead is a director, not an actor, and the leads are not a couple, but the bones of the story are the same. Perhaps it will be a future...

Press Release Warner Archive Press Release: A Star is Born (1937) (Blu-ray)

Finally we are going to get a version made from the Technicolor 3 strip negative. Question is will Warner go with saturated colors that we think of as Technicolor from 1940's films or will they be true to how the film originally looked in 1937, which was more muted . Odd that they uses a Black...
