    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

It's a great photo (taken by her friend Firooz Zahedi) and really shows off her playful side!

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

I was delighted that Tim Millard asked my question about Raintree County on the latest episode of The Extras Podcast. George Feltenstein gave a very in-depth response, around seven minutes in length (beginning around the 21-minute mark), about the history of the film, the challenges of restoring...

IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor coming to Blu-ray

I'd buy all three in a heartbeat! I'm surprised The Taming of the Shrew hasn't been released yet. Hopefully it's part of Kino's Sony deal. Paramount has been churning out a number of releases over the last two years, so we could see Elephant Walk from them at some point.

IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor coming to Blu-ray

Yes, there was a VHS. A few years ago when Olive was releasing Paramount films I asked them about Ash Wednesday and they confirmed that there was a rights issue holding up the release. I have a hunch that it has to do with the Ray Charles songs in the soundtrack. It's a shame, I'd love to see...

IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor coming to Blu-ray

Speaking of her post-Virginia Woolf output, I was hoping that we would see Ash Wednesday through Kino's deal with Paramount. A member of another forum included it in a list of films they were interested in, but the KL Insider said none of them were part of the deal, although they'd asked for...

IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor coming to Blu-ray

Agreed! Not thrilled about having to purchase three films I have no interest in to get this, but I'm pleased that it's being rescued from PD hell. Never thought I'd see this one on Blu-ray!

IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor coming to Blu-ray

Severin Films will release the 1974 film IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) starring Elizabeth Taylor (and with a cameo by Andy Warhol) on Blu-ray, as part of its upcoming five-disc "House of Psychotic Rarities Collection" on October 25, 2022. The other titles are "I Like Bats" (1986)...

Warner Bros Archive Wish List 2022 and Beyond!!

If you're referring to the 1945 adaptation, WAC released it on Blu-ray back in 2014. It looks gorgeous! :)

One of my regrets is not seeing Raintree County in 35mm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto about a decade ago. Have a great time, Ken, and please share your experience with us after!

Blu-ray Review The Tales of Hoffmann Blu-ray Review

This has been on my list of films to see for ages, and this release sounds like the perfect opportunity for me to fix this oversight. Thanks for another great review, Matt!

What was your very first movie on physical media purchase?

I remember the first VHS I asked my parents for was The Wizard of Oz. The video store didn't have any copies so they had to place an order and it felt like a lifetime before we finally got the call that it had arrived. I wanted the 1991 release (five year old me liked the cover better) and was...

    Blu-ray Review The Clock (1945) Blu-ray Review

Matt, I've only seen The Clock from start to finish once, and your great review has whetted my appetite for the Blu-ray! Thank you! Looking forward to popping some champagne and watching all three new WAC Judy Blu-rays on her centenary weekend.

Pre-Order The Adventures of Don Juan (1948) (Warner Archive) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I've never seen this but it looks like something I'd enjoy, so I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point. I'm sure the Technicolor will be breathtaking.

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Is KL still releasing StudioCanal films? If so, I hope they'll consider licensing Franco Zeffirelli's Young Toscanini, starring C. Thomas Howell and Elizabeth Taylor, for Blu-ray. It was never released theatrically in the United States, and there has never been an English-language disc release...

Press Release USHE Press Release: Downton Abbey: A New Era (4k UHD) (Blu-ray)

I read that this is also getting a 4K UHD release as well. I saw it on Wednesday and LOVED it and thought it was even better than the first film. It was great to see the Crawleys together again. The perfect feel-good treat for fans of the series after more than two years of Covid.

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

My one and only experience seeing Cleopatra on the big screen was during the film's 50th anniversary theatrical reissue in 2013 while I was living in London. I saw it at the Curzon Mayfair, a beautiful venue, but they played it on the smaller of the two screens, the size of which felt like a...

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Exciting news! Hoping to see Elephant Walk (1954) and Ash Wednesday (1973) as part of this deal, if the rights issue associated with the latter can be overcome. 🤞

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

Do you happen to have the link? None of these films are showing up on the calendar: https://filmforum.org/coming_soon Edit: Nevermind, found the post on FB. I guess they haven't added them to the calendar yet.

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

We know that Warner and TCM have a multi-year partnership with The Film Foundation. Fingers crossed Raintree is up for consideration.

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

Thanks, Oliver! Unfortunately that screening was two years ago to celebrate Monty Clift's centenary. Maybe there will be a screening somewhere to commemorate the film's 65th anniversary this year. Or, even better, a sparklingly restored Blu-ray. ;)

Pre-Order Giant (1956) (4k UHD) Available for Preorder

I'm sure you're right, and I wouldn't want them crammed on the same disc as a nearly 3.5 hour movie. But it's a shame that they've been dropped and the release feels incomplete for what's supposed to be an ultimate format and, I would assume, a definitive release of this iconic film. Either way...

UK's Network to release ELIZABETH TAYLOR IN LONDON/SOPHIA LOREN IN ROME on Blu-ray!

Network in the UK will release a double feature of the 1960s TV specials, Elizabeth Taylor in London and Sophia Loren in Rome, on June 20, 2022 (the same week as Giant in 4K!). I always hoped I'd see these remastered in high definition, but never thought it would happen. I've had a recording of...
