I don’t have the channel hence my questions. As far as I know the only interview I’ve seen Hackman do anything extensive was for The French Connection on one of the disc releases.
Is there anything about the showing on the Criterion Channel that might improve on the bluray? For instance is it in 4K? I would love to see a Criterion come out with a release. Maybe they could even get Hackman to talk about it. He’s never said much about it and I think Stella Steven’s...
5 of us went yesterday. Theater was well attended. Seating was spaced out due to COVID. Great presentation and sound. I hadn’t seen it in a while so it was pleasure to see how good it looked. Can’t wait to get it on disc later this year.
I watched the Apple TV version of Godfather when I wanted to listen to the commentary after having viewed the 4K Disc earlier in the week. To my eye the stream seemed to look more like the original color scheme as that yellow hue seemed more prevalent.
Mr Harris,
I am curious if you’ve watched the streaming versions on Apple TV? I have the 4K UHD which entitled me to them and after initially viewing The God Father Part II off the disc a few days later I decided to listen to Coppola’s commentary using the Apple TV version (because I was too...
Does anyone have a reference that discusses what the various resolutions one could typically expect to get from negatives and the various kinds of prints when converting to digital?
First, I do like the way these films look. However having watched these films many many times starting with when they were first released and then every home video medium they were available on they look very different now and it is startling and takes getting used to. However, I also think...
I am curious how involved Coppola actual was in the restoration? He did approve it and his company looks to have handled a significant part of the restoration from what I saw in the documentary. Is his approval just a rubber stamp or does he truly feel this is the best representation of these...
I just got my Boxed set and two of the discs (GF III Theatrical and Bonus Features) were out of their spots floating around! Some light scratches on them. Hope they play OK.
I have a Marantz SR8015 with all B&W speakers. I recently took the plunge on Audyssey’s recently release MultiEQ-X app. Previously I was using their mobile app to perform the calibration. I thought my system sounded great as well as being told so by others who’ve heard it. The new PC app...
Thanks. I ordered my discs from Shout after the replacement was announced and my order was delayed. Presumably because the disc wasn’t ready. This will give me something to check mine against. Thanks again!
The M1 line is a fantastic processor family. RAM is a completely separate issue and should be sized according to the workload you plan to run. For best results it should all fit in memory and avoid any swapping. I had a 64 GB Intel Mac Book Pro and what I was doing on it required lots of...
In my case I find these Blu Rays to be such an improvement over the DVDs in every way. Better resolution, richer colors, and an improvement in the amount of grain (which I thought the DVDs had too much of probably due to the condition of the sources for those transfers).
