Time to update this story. The release of Win 11 has made my older machines not upgradeable.
To prepare for the inevitable learning experience, I bought about the cheapest Dell Optiplex with 8th gen i5 core processor: an Optiplex 3060 tower. It was good used condition off eBay for $360...
My newest refurbished Dell laptop came with Win 10 Pro but it was activated in a funny manner. “Windows is activated using your organization’s activation service”
Research on line discovered big companies that buy lots of PCs use this method, but the PCs have to check in to the server every...
I owned the DVD series which took up way too many discs.
Then I bought the Blu-Ray set a few years for about $40.
I see it now is long out of print and eBays for something stupid like $300!
My only gripe is they put the 4K theatrical and Redux on the same disk, using seamless branching. My Sony X700 spits up on the branching - it freezes at odd times. And I only really want to watch the theatrical release version. I'd rather have a dedicated 4K disc of the theatrical release...
This may be another of those limited time deals from Amazon.

I was just going to buy the first film in 4k, but for $9 more I got all the rest, plus an extra set on regular blu-ray to give away.
To be honest the disc packaging for the very first LOA DVD is still my favorite. The case was covered with a light tan cloth that mimicked Lawrence's outer garb of his white robes.
I ordered my SB from Amazon - along with a pack of socks. I figured they would have to put them in a box together. Somehow they put the SB at the bottom of the box with no padding, and managed to install a small dent.
How does this work? A 5 disc set with 5 films: how do they get both the 4k and regular blue ray smashed into 5 discs?
I just looked - price expires in about 5 hours!
Old receivers make great garage audio systems. I have an old 2 channel Yamaha receiver with what was once state of the art Toshiba DVD player as a CD drive.
I missed this the first time I read the review.
I received my copy today from Amazon, and was pleased to find the 4K feature was split onto two discs. I've been unhappy with the 4K Apocalypse Now discs since they crammed the theatrical and redux versions onto a single disc, which my X700 has...
