    I never did a firmware update on my Marantz SR-8012! It arrived 10/4/2018 so since I have been listening to Atmos as Auro the entire time I think it is safe to say that update was never done to my receiver.

    So who knows if this was actually implemented or not? I have also emailed Marantz to ask them if this was something that was ever implemented or not.

    Am sure that if it is implemented that it would be very hard to reverse it! My receiver came with Auro 3D so I did not have to pay for it. And I feel it is a big deal as I actually have listened to Atmos tracks as Auro 3D and feel it sounds more spacial and open. It is why I am not taking...

    I own a SR-8012 Marantz receiver and I heard about this and because of it I have purposely not updated the firmware as I do not want to loose the ability to convert Atmos to Auro 3D!
