    THE CARDINAL - 1963

There are some great actors in The Cardinal: Tom Tyron, John Huston, Romy Schneider, Carol Lynley, Burgess Meredith, Ossis Davis, Robert Morse and more. I’ve loved the film since original release. The 2003 2 DVD WB reissue was a very nice presentation and the DVD is decent unconverted...

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ -The Godfather(s) 50th Anniversary Restoration -- in 4k UHD

Following this discussion brought me back to 1977 when the films were first (I think) shown on TV. I had to rent a color TV as all I had was a little Black and White set. So I get the rental RCA set in the house. Then the presentation came on, pan and scan I’m sure. But the color was all off...

Blu-ray Review The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm Blu-ray Review

Grimm’s restoration is remarkable. Love it. On How the West Was Won, I wish they had fixed that opening aerial which has the spots on the window or something. Always takes me out of the restoration. Wish the Grimm guys could take a new go at HTWWW

Yeah, after the overture and the first seconds of the actual film began projected on the curtain as it was opening was just magical. How the West Was Won was just majestic. I received the set, screening later today.

Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm – in Blu-ray

I bought the wide screen laser disc of Grimm back in the early 90s and was I ever disappointed in the picture quality, unwatchable really. The print on TCM is equally as bad although I suspect they will switch to restored print at some point in the near future. This release gives me hope...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Lawrence of Arabia -- in 4k/UHD Blu-ray

We had tickets ( good seats) for the opening in 2020. It was then cancelled with refunds. Looks like a great production. The clip above due to Sutton Foster and her understudy had to drop out due to Covid and Ms. Voytko filling in at last minute.

    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ Shenandoah – in Blu-ray

Watched the BD of Shenandoah yesterday, seeing the film for the first time since the theater of 1965 when I was 14. I remembered the film as vibrant but somewhat confusing and so many years later I can see why. First the Confederates want the brothers. Then the “Federals” want their horses but...

Disney+ The Beatles: Get Back exclusively on Disney+

I’ve enjoyed the whole series, most def for fans, very dense. I laughed when George said about the film being used, “We haven’t paid off the film from Magical Mystery Tour!” Several LOL moments for me, Lennon so funny when he’s up. Was he bi-polar? I’m a first gen fan of the Fabs. And...
