Absolutely. I have 12 copies on order with my wholesaler for my UK customers,,,, Now we need the WA experts to work on a 4K ultra blu ray release of Dr Zhivago.... David Lean's Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia have both had 4K releases from Sony.

yes very much so and Kwai looks amazing in 4K thanks to Grover Crisp's meticulous restoration of this Oscar winning epic

With Lawrence and Kwai out on 4K utra bluray I would have thought David Lean's Dr Zhivago would be perfect for the 4K treatment on disc especially as a 4Krestoration was carried out a few years ago in collaboration with the BFI and Warner's . Lets see this happen.

Basically Disney are not supporters of physical media anymore and are highly unlikely to start supporting blu ray etc again. They are pushing their Disney Plus streaming service. End of an era for us collectors on Disney titles with one or two exceptions ( Marvel Star Wars etc)

I really hope this the film roadshow version?

With the wonderful Song of Norway coming in April would Kino be interested in getting the rights to The Great Waltz? Another Cinerama epic from the early 70s. I am not sure who the film rights owners are however....

I HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THEIR LIST OF PURCHASERS , OBVIOUSLY AFTER MANY PURCHASES DISNEY MOVIE CLUB HAVE FOUND ME TO BE BASED IN THE UK. AT LEAST I WAS ABLE TO GET MULTIPLE PURCHASES FROM THEM BEFORE I WAS STRUCK OFF!

THE BFI put on a digital print at theNFT 1 last night for the 50th anniversary. Print was little dull in my opinion and sadly ran for only 155 minutes with no roadshow elements such as no intermission etc. On another note , I hope Warners occasionally look at these posts...... what about...

I doubt it as Warner's in the UK are not exactly huge supporters of classic DVD/Blu Ray physical releases. It may get an HMV UK exclusive release in the future as they have a tie up arrangement with Warner Home Video.

I concur. KL are always transparent and professional in their responses. The real issue in the USA is the total lack of SUFFICIENT replication facilities for blu ray releases , I suppose due to falling demand in general for physical media. This may be 'heresay' but I heard one of the major...

is this version being released form the Wade Williams Collection? HE has an uncut 35mm print apparently.

I would like to see Operation Crossbow on Blu Ray. It would be a Warner Archive blu ray release. It is only the only big budget 60s War movie still needing the blu ray treatment....

I can confirm the new releases come with UK subtitles. these are gorgeous transfers

It will be interesting to see if PATHE FR new release of these magnificent films will include UK subtitles? These are 4k restorations and will be getting a French cinema re release as well....

REGION A only........ but in France PATHE are releasing on 13 September a new 4K restoration on blu ray...........

is Operation Crossbow an MGM film or a Warner title? it is ripe for a Blu Ray release on especially as so many other 60s war movie classics are getting the blu ray treatment currently...
