Entertainment. I believe this word has different meanings for us when we choose to watch or grade a movie, regardless of how we heard about it. I'm pretty sure nowadays we have the benefit of watching the trailer to see if it even elicits our interest, despite the word of mouth through social...
You wouldn't by chance have the previous Blu for comparison's sake? I'm just curious if the new Blu is also a better buy than the previous incarnation.
My take is that it depends on the studio and who performs the 4K transfer. I end up reading the reviews before deciding to plunk down the hard cash. Movies like Lawrence of Arabia, My Fair Lady, Ten Commandments, and Jaws (if that can be considered Classic) received rave reviews for their 4K...
Curious, does the Monty Python's Flying Circus: The Complete Series Bluray that comes out also on the 24th not count as as a new release?
Here's the Amazon link:
Amazon.com: Monty Python's Flying Circus: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]: Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry...
I think he meant consolidating the Extended version into 1 disc. The past bluray versions had each single extended version into 2 discs. Given that these are now UHD, and a larger capacity, I was hoping this iteration of the Extended versions would fit into 1 disc. Based on Bill Hunt's info...
I could be in the minority here, but so far my choice to go with the XBox One S as a 4K disk player has been working flawlessly since there's been firmware updates for the player app. I feel Microsoft has to beef up the drive and keep the player app updated to keep the player community happy...
Ok, do any of these Ealing comedies by KL come with CC (subtitles)? Anyone know what the specs are if they do come with them? Only reason I ask is that thick English accents can be challenging at times to understand.
That link to the Hobbit with Figurine Amazon Exclusive is not to the 3D version. I lost a pre-order because I thought it was the same, and canceled my pre-order. Only to find out this exclusive with figurine is only for the 2D version. Very misleading.
Here's my feeble attempt at a home theater. My receiver is so old, that it won't even do passthrough of HDMI inputs. Getting a Dolby Atmos stereo would leapfrog me to the latest century!
I only have a modest setup currently, So, having a Dolby Atmos setup would mean adding 2 overhead speakers, and that would push me to upgrade my current TV as well to be one of those passive 3D UHD sets, possibly 75". I need every incentive to bring my home theater to current standards.
I'm just happy that they're offering a $5 rebate (inside the DVD) for previous owners of Sleeping Beauty VHS. So, given that I bought SB for $19.99 from the Disney store, less the $10 GC they offered, plus the lithographs, less the $5 rebate for previous VHS owners, I ended up practically paying...
Speaking of Costco, I just came from mine today and they had some Disney classic movies on sale for $12.99 each. These include: 1) A Goofy Movie 2) Sword in the Stone 3) Fun and Fancy Free 4) Robin Hood I picked up items 2-4 since it's hard enough to find them at those prices. I know...
I too am waiting for the Miyazaki 3-set. However, they may be cheaper to buy individually. Note that just in time when I bought "Roger Rabbit", I found out about the $3 off coupon that's in the April issues of Better Homes and Garden, and Parents Magazine, just behind the cover pages. In there...
