Just got Stripes extended cut in 4K for $4.99. The theatrical cut is also included with it as an iTunes extra. Only in HD.
And sounds like the opposite happens in the Almost Famous offer that ManW referenced. Seems like it's time that 4K should just be the default for any version in a bundle...
Almost Famous in 4K is on sales for $7.99 on iTunes
Anyone know if this includes both theatrical and bootleg cut, or is it “bootleg” cut only?
I can’t tell. Or should I get the 4K disc that definitely includes both?
iTunes finally added some different sales on TV box sets after offering the same ones for weeks.
Including Cheers. Complete box set for $29.99 in HD
Want to get it, but only if it’s 4x3. I believe MASH in HD is zoomed to 16x9 which I don’t want.
Anyone know about Cheers?
Star Trek, the original series, is $29.99 for the complete HD digital "box" set on iTunes.
I'm tempted. I love iTunes digital HD series especially when they get around to good sales on them (rarely for the classic shows) As much as I love classic TV, I've never watched the original Star Trek...
My avatar noticed Gilligan's Island, the complete series dropped to $29.99 for all 98 episodes in HD. So I grabbed it.
It was $19.99 a long time ago, and iTunes TV series box set sales aren't what they used to be. It may not be lower for awhile. I really like iTune's HD TV box sets. Wish...
The Peter Sellers Pink Panther film collection is $19.99. 6-films. Has anyone purchased this to give an overview? Are they all in HD and would a collection upgrade to 4K if they ever go there? Any bonus material?
Thanks! I ordered it. Normally, I prefer the original, theatrical cut of films. But from what I understand, the director's cut here is just a minor extra shot or two - under a minute - so I probably wouldn't remember the difference.
Robocop 4k is $4.99 on the iTunes Store. Has anyone seen it this way? Is it a good upgrade over the blu-ray?
And besides scrolling through the 240+ pages of this thread, does anyone know where we can find reviews or even specific discussions of 4k digital films?
Thanks. I found it on the iTunes phone app.
Can't believe they removed it from the Apple TV streaming box and the iTunes app on the Apple TV too. I would think the majority of movie rentals would happen on Apple TV box, not on people's phones. Maybe they'll bring it back there soon. But...
Both Apple TV and iTunes Movies have long had $0.99 cent movie rental sections - often called "Movies You May Have Missed". I love it because its a large rotating selection of new releases, classics, documentaries, foreign films and obscure films. I'll check it frequently & then "lock" in...
You know, you may be right. I was going through all of these series this morning, and I could have sworn that one said HD, or I may have confused myself.
However, I did buy LHOTP complete series for $19.99. I could have sworn it said HD too, but checking it again now, it does not inidicate HD...
iTunes has a pretty good selection of complete TV series for under $20 (they call them Box Sets - but there's no box, and I don't see that extras from a physical media box set is included).
But good stuff: Mad Men, Little House on the Prairie, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Adams Family & many...
RE: Bill and Ted: Well I guess I was searching on my laptop. Turned on Apple TV and its listed there prominently.
On their laptop app, it's not being pushed and can't find it. I typed Bill and Ted Triple at someone's recommendation and it came up. Odd. Whatever, not a terrible price...
I promise, this morning before work, iTunes had all 3 Bill & Ted movies to own in 4k for about $34.99. Now I can't find it. Did it leave that quickly? Did anyone get it?
Edit - Vudu has all 3 films in UHD 4K for $34.99. I just thought iTunes might be a better quality. I guess I'll just go...
Wow. I had forgotten about the IMAX footage. Shame they didn't include that on UHD digital as well, unless it would have caused problems.
If they had, I wonder if the disc would still look better overall.
If I don't have these on 4K. Has anyone compared the 4K digital version vs. the 4K UHD discs?
The Dark Knight trilogy 4K discs have received glowing reviews and thought about those - but maybe there is no difference at this point?
I'm so tempted to get these Batman films in 4K. Especially the Dark Knight trilogy. But have the Blu-rays & only watched them once. Hate myself for coming in here and reading these posts sometimes - why do I need more movies when I can't watch the ones I have because there is so much new...
Thanks for that info and everyone else sharing the lower price history. It's probably a matter of time before studios start "double dipping" on digital releases just like with discs. They'll release a digital version w/ those variable aspect ratios along with a new interview, commentary or...
The Christopher Nolan Dark Knight 4K trilogy is $24.99 on iTunes.
Has anyone any thoughts / experience on the digital versions over the 4K discs? I really don't need to spend the $ right now but that price is nice and in digital 4K! Anyone talk me out of it?
Man, stuff like this is so tempting! It's a great deal on really funny films. I've embraced Digital lately, especially through Apple TV since I got one last fall. But you still have to be careful.
After years of collecting discs (a few I've still not watched), I don't know if it makes sense...
Wow. Great prices. Tempted to pick up some of these $4.99 iTunes deals...especially Unforgiven in 4K. Haven't seen it in 20 years.
But with so much content at my fingertips - through streaming subscriptions and a large disc collection - I find myself buying less and less and less.
Thanks! I guess I'll give it a try.
I think we'll see many more of these $9.99 4K digital deals.
Not sure how I feel having this & few others be in one collection while a large 4K BD & Blu-ray library are all together in a different collection. But guess that's just the way things are headed.
In addition to my question above:
iTunes Store says "You can watch content in 4K only on Apple TV 4K".
Is that true? I thought once purchased in the iTunes Store, it syncs with Movies Anywhere. I have 4K TV, 4K Roku and 4K BD player. Have Movies Anywhere on all 3 devices.
I finally set up Movies Anywhere this week & recently started my 4K Blu-ray collection.
So I was thinking of buying this on 4K disc. But like you, that $10 price sounds great for a 4K stream.
Did you like the 4K stream of Bohemian? Any reason to hold back & get a 4K disc?
(As much as I...
