    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Perhaps now we can hope for Blu-rays of Daughter of the Dragon and Daughter of Shanghai?

Press Release Criterion Press Release: Summertime (1955) (Blu-ray)

I watched Summertime streaming in 1:37 aspect ratio on the Criterion channel, and to my completely untutored, layperson's eye, the shots that were mostly just of Venice cityscapes looked fine in 1:37, but most of the shots with the characters obviously had too much headroom. It would be...

Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ Ordinary People – in Blu-ray

!!!!! Just had to express my excitement at this mention. And yes, fingers crossed for 4K.

Press Release PHE Press Release: The Godfather Trilogy (4k UHD) (Blu-ray) (including gift set and reissues)

Got my Godfather set today. Put in the first disc. Looks really gorgeous all right. Though it looks weirdly too contemporary. So I know where RAH is coming from, even though I'm your average viewer and no expert. Major problem though: The Godfather (disc 1) keeps freezing in chapter 8 (I...

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Heard from KL again. They're fixing the Blue Skies master and will redo the discs, and should be able to send them out by late April or early May. They'll be sharing replacement disc links soon. Thanks so much to Kino Lorber!

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

I messaged KL regarding the muffled taps audio problem on Blue Skies and they responded that they're looking into this and if the issues are confirmed, they'll set up a disc replacement program.

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

I just watched Blue Skies and you’re absolutely correct. The taps are missing! I just sent KL a message about this. I hope we hear back from them soon.

Is there any possibility that we may get 4K discs from WAC someday?

Shawscope Volume One coming this Christmas Timeframe from Arrow

I'm here and I've been going nuts watching all the Arrow, 88 Films and Eureka Hong Kong releases! More than halfway through the Shawscope box (just finished Chinatown Kid). All these remastered releases are like manna from heaven. I just wish we were getting more HK films than these martial arts...

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

LOL!!! But no, mullets of any type should be outlawed. Wait, is that David Spade movie available in 4K? :)

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Hard Target 4K is beautiful. My husband hadn't seen this movie before despite being an action fan and he loved it. However, I do have issues with JCvD's greasy mullet. NEVER a good look, even in the early 90s. :D

Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ Cartoon Saloon's Irish Folklore Trilogy – in Blu-ray

So thrilled to see Robert Harris writing about the exquisite films of Cartoon Saloon! I had the great pleasure of seeing The Book of Kells and Song of the Sea in the theater. Wolfwalkers I had to catch streaming. Cartoon Saloon's fourth feature is a non-Irish story, The Breadwinner, about a...

That's terrific news about Angels With Dirty Faces and Ivanhoe. I saw Ivanhoe not too long ago on TCM and kept thinking how it was in need of a WAC restoration. Re Cagney movies, I'm still hoping for The Roaring Twenties.

In November, The Far Country (1955) coming from Arrow

In the better late than never department, I finally watched the Blu-ray (1:85) of The Far Country. The picture quality was a major disappointment, especially after seeing WAC's gorgeous Blu-ray of The Naked Spur. Was this REALLY scanned from the original camera negative? Because it looks several...

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ Anatomy of a Murder -- in 4k UHD

I'm chuffed (as our British friends say) to have 4K versions of all the films in this vol. 2 set, and that definitely goes for Stripes, too. That's required viewing around here, especially with one pal who is a retired Army officer. :)

Geez, I am going to have to get ALL of these. What a list! Lullaby of Broadway is my most-wanted on Blu-ray Doris Day movie. She really gets to show off her dancing chops in this one. Plus she wears a gorgeous gold gown (I love gold dresses in the movies). I saw a mention of National Velvet...

Have you seen Living on Velvet with Francis and Brent? One of my favorites, directed by the great Frank Borzage. It's available on a WAC DVD and I drool at the thought of a restored WAC Blu-ray.

    Shame on you Disney!!!

How I long for a Blu-ray of The Fighting Prince of Donegal. I LOVED that movie when I was a wee bairn. I didn't know anyone else remembered it!

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Thanks for the tip! Amazon cancelled, KL store order submitted. I also ordered Kino's Fritz Lang silent film Blu-ray collection, which, for some reason, I did not realize was available, but found it while looking for another disc to order to get free shipping. Of course, the Lang collection...

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

I wish I could comment on the Blu-ray of Thoroughly Modern Millie, but it seems to be on permanent backorder. This is the first time I've experienced a problem with a Kino Lorber title. It seems like half the Blu-rays I own are KL releases, and they've always shipped right out.

    Blu-ray Review F.P.1 Doesn’t Answer Blu-ray Review

I was thrilled with this release but what's the story with the French version with Charles Boyer as Elliessen? Is it no longer extant? No restored version? Couldn't fit on the disc? Is it available anywhere? The production design and SFX are truly jaw-dropping.

What are the chances of The Wild Bunch on 4K disc?

Sounds like nobody has actual info on a 4k Wild Bunch. With AT&T selling off WarnerMedia to Discovery, I'm not optimistic.
