A little background: My wife and I are shopping for our first house. We have only begun searching, but it is apparrent that since we can't afford to have a custom-built house, we will have to compromise on features. Looking around, it has become clear that a dedicated theater room may not...
This deserves a wider audience than the crickets in the TV section. This is looking good:
Video Preview from Amazon.com here. DVD Release Date: September 20, 2005 Strange that the DVD is released prior to the PBS showing...
I saw this news and thought it was worth sharing:
For the the full article, click here. It looks like the future is coming--to Europe. How long will the US have to wait?
I saw Going Upriver: The Long Journey of John Kerry last night and recommend it highly. The film focuses on the experiences of soldiers in Vietnam and their experiences after the war in the peace movement. Using mostly archival footage with interviews spliced in to expand and explain the...
Walmart has stated that intends to produce its own label for a line of HDTVs in an effort to cut prices. This article states that the sets may be ready for Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Some questions: Who will actually be the manufacturer of these sets? How will quality...
I saw this and thought I would pass on the info:
Article Sounds intersting. The PSOne kept sales going for an old machine. Can this reinvigorate PS2 hardware sales?
I saw this deal at another site. I never heard of this place or these DVDs, but it may be an OK deal. They are at Amazon for $17.99 each ($53.97 for all three). Natural Splendors, Vol 1-3

Will this give XBOX more leverage in game development? Will this mean more games? Better games? Faster development times?
Not for the squemish:
Luckily, it appears to be a local concern and meat was not sold to distributors. More details will become available once the trial begins. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americ...eut/index.html
Does anyone know the status of the film, Dragon Warrior that was to use a virtual version of Bruce Lee? The last references I can find are dated from 2001 and pointed to a 2004 release. Lee's widow, Linda, and daughter, Shannon, gave permission to use his likeness. Story here...
My wife and I recently added another car to our policy with Allstate. I am relatively happy with the premium, but out of curiosity I did an online price comparison through Progressive. I was shocked to see that we could maintain the exact same coverage and save about 25-30% in our premium. The...
The trailer is up and is very different from what I was expecting. I was afraid of another Ben & Jen disaster, but this looks to have very little Jen Does she die giving birth?

I agree that it may be hard to think of non-technical uses for this technology in the near future, but it may hold promise.
The inventor states that any plug-and-paly device, like a computer or television, can serve as the source for the display. Here is the article, free NY Times...
http://qpon.quiznos.com/ The coupon seems to renew itself every day for a two-day window (e.g. today's coupon is good through 12/10). Quiznos is usually too expensive for me to justify, but I have been enjoying this deal for a week now. No need to sign up, but I did in case they send me...
Although I am not in the market, those who are interested may want to head to Walmart between 6AM and 11AM this Friday for a nice deal on the Game Cube bundle with four Zelda games.

IGN gave it a disappointing 7.7. I was looking forward to this game. The last game I bought was Splinter Cell, and I am thinking of one or tow games to get for Christmas vacation. Manhunt and XIII are high on my list, but now I'm not sure about XIII. The main gripe seems to focus on weak AI:
Here is a link to the official site with a teaser trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/the_polar_express/ I won't spoil the surprise, just click it! Looks promising to me.
I saw on the "Deals Page" that Overstock is selling the EE for $24.49 plus $1.40 shipping. With a new customer $5 coupon, the total is $20.89 with shipping. Direct link to the Overstock deal here. Questions: How is Overstock? (i.e. Are they reliable and how long does shipping take?)...
Is there a way to prevent these relatively new ads from the likes of AOL seen on www.usatoday.com and other sites? The ads creep up over the page and then hide back into a banner. I have the google pop-up blocker (highly recommended!) but these ads are unaffected. Any help would be appreciated.
IGN and Gamespot have both reported this rumor. Apparently, a Target executive claims to have seen promotional materials for a $99 price-point. Here is the Gamespot Story: http://www.gamespot.com/all/news/news_6076760.html
