I picked up the 4K / Dolby Vision version of The Mule on iTunes for $4.99. Per Cheap Charts, this is the cheapest it's ever been. It's a blind buy, but my wife and I have wanted to see it ever since the film came out.
The name wasn't familiar, so I had to look her up. The only film she's been in that I have seen is Baby Driver. That's reason enough to watch the Mamma Mia sequel. ;)
Picked up The Rainmaker, Mommie Dearest and the Mamma Mia sequel (4K/DV) for $4.99 each on iTunes. The sequel is a blind buy -- my wife is more a fan of the first film that I am.
I received an email alert from Cheap Charts on this (it was on my wish list). I grabbed it, as I sold my discs several years ago. That was too good a price to pass up.
I didn't know that about his money issues and manager. That's sad, and it seems to happen too often. A similar thing happened to Billy Joel.
For anyone paying attention, he is credited as Nicolas Coppola for his brief appearance as one of Brad's friends in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
If you are a fan of Nicolas Cage, iTunes has some films for you on sale. I never realized he was in so many movies -- many of which I've never even heard of. I counted 55 titles with him for sale on Cheap Charts!
I think I may have figured this out. It appears that I bought Seasons 1,2,4 and 5 through Vudu (maybe as part of their old Disc + Digital program), while Seasons 3, 6 and 7 I got via claiming a digital code given to me from a friend.
For me, the offer was available for Seasons 1,2,4 and 5. The other seasons are showing a much higher price to upgrade -- except for Season 8, which evidently I only redeemed on iTunes.
Picked up the original versions (HD) of Murder on the Orient Express and Slap Shot for $4.99 each on iTunes. Both are upgrades from DVD in my library.
EDIT: Decided to pick up the HD of Meatballs for $4.99, too. I have not seen this in many years, and have never owned it in any format. Not...
The Untouchables is currently only HD on iTunes. I did buy it back in late 2019 when it was on sale for $3.99. Too bad it's not a Movies Anywhere title. Oh, well, just have to hope for that free 4K upgrade at some point.
Not a great deal, but in case anyone really wants to see it, the price of No Time To Die has dropped to $12.99 on iTunes. Personally, that's still too high for me. I have never paid more than $10 for a streaming film, and really try to keep all purchases below $8.
There are a few interesting titles on sale at iTunes. I picked up the 4K version of Hellboy II: The Golden Army for $4.99. I think I've seen it once, but cannot remember how, as I've never bought it.
I missed the sale price for The Mummy, so thanks for that. I now have enough of the Universal Monsters releases on iTunes to where I am comfortable selling the BD set that included 8 of the films. I am only missing The Wolf Man (still waiting for a price drop), and two I really don't care for...
I picked up Liberty Valance and the 1967 film Casino Royale -- only had the latter on DVD. Contemplating buying Viva Zapata.
The Longest Day is on sale. I know that there were issues with the BD transfer at one time. Does anyone know if the version on iTunes suffers from those same issues?
Can you list these? The only one I noticed was Some Like It Hot, and that's a Kino Lorber release, so no guarantee we will get a free 4K upgrade. I'm not up on all the 4K releases planned for 2022, though, so any others you noticed would be helpful.
I picked up the 4K versions of Anatomy of a Murder, Say Anything and Reds, plus the HDX version of Rushmore. Anatomy of a Murder was an upgrade from BD, and the others were upgrades from DVD.
The only items I purchased during today's iTunes sale were the two pack of the X-Files movies for $9.99 and the original Carrie for $4.99. I didn't own the X-Files films and haven't seen them in years -- plus my wife and I are slowly re-watching the series (bought the entire series a couple of...
I took advantage of that Amazon deal, as I am always buying stuff from there -- especially around the holidays (I rarely go to the store). I still have $90 left on account at the iTunes store, so that should last me for awhile at the pace I buy titles.
