I remember when i got the UK DVD box set of this it was Mono, the USA version is Stereo much better:)
The Cinema may only have Dolby A and SR and not Digital sound, The optical track would not be mono.
Maybe the projectionist missed the Dolby...
Remember the new 70mm/Datasat print is a 4K digital out , I do not think it looks as good as the 1989 version but the 5.1 audio
is very good.

I saw this in 3D Dolby Vision and Atmos in London and it was fab presentation.
On the Film Tech forum it has said that some 35mm prints had some sound problems.
Of course on a Digital presentation none of this will happen....
Logan Run in 70mm at the Empire in London was 6 track Mag non Dolby and it was fab. One of the last 70mm 6 track releases.

I did not really like this version but the Dolby Atmos mix was fab though.

When I saw Khartom in 70mm on the Cinerama screen years ago in Bradford the intermisssion was put on the end of the reel before
it should have. :)
Some cinemas put an intermission when OJ Simpson picks up the cat.

I saw The Prince and the Pauper on release at the Carlton Haymarket in London it was presented in 4 track stereo
and it sounded excellent.

I am sure the 4.1 is from the 70mm mix.
The Laserdisc version used a 70mm 6 -track Sensurround mix in AC-3 which is only available in that format.
