It's almost better, I think, just to do payments without the upgrade program.
If you pay the phone off early, it's yours, and you can trade it in at maximum value for another phone and get into another payment plan.
The upgrade plan is actually more expensive because it includes Apple Care.
It's amazing what I found after you brought this up, Dave...
I signed up for Apple Payments and NOT the upgrade program.
In fact, I never was offered the upgrade program. I thought I was automatically joining that, but apparently not.
I even went back to Apple.com to order the same phone and...
I am so very happy that you have no keyboard issues.
I went through two Macbook Pros in two years. Both had keyboard problems.
Mind you, they don't start immediately. It usually kicks in after a little wear and tear.
Now, you bought a used one. So, if the keyboard issue is not...
I sat here yesterday constantly going to Apple's site to see how their sales were doing.
At the same time, I contemplated the cost. With my iPhone X trade-in, the PRO was significantly cheaper. Combine that with the upgrade plan and it seemed to make sense.
So I bought the new...
Congrats on your new phone, Sam.
I am actually still sitting here regretting not purchasing it. What is worse, nearly three hours later the Pro Max Space Grey with 512GB storage is still available to be delivered on release day.
I just can't...can't justify spending the money for a small...
I am 99.9% certain I am going to abstain from buying a new phone this year.
The only thing that would move me towards a new phone would be if the rumored iPhone pencil comes to fruition.
During my brief stint as a Galaxy Note owner, I loved the S-Pen and the fact I could quickly write down...
Thanks to you and Dave (who responded as well), I have a much better understanding of the program. It's basically putting you in a 2-year contract to pay off one phone. If you buy another within a year, the contract resets itself to two years.
The contract also includes Apple Care so...
Thanks for a very informative breakdown.
In the long run, I guess I am better just buying a new iPhone outright when I need it.
I don't use Apple Care.
I always sell the old phone to help subsidize the price of the new one.
I wasn't even thinking of getting a new iPhone next month. I am very happy with my current XS Max with 512GB ram.
Nothing really looks innovative about the upcoming phone, that is, unless something we don't know about it is announced.
I paid about $1449 for this phone when it was released...
