Warner DVD's not working thread - watch to make sure they still play

Sent in my discs...three months ago. Still haven't gotten anything back. Is anyone else here experiencing the same problem?

Worried my DVDs will look bad on new HDTV

To the original poster...how about a Sony Blu-ray player? I have one, and I think it does a pretty good job at upscaling DVDs (even down to playing progressive scan content at the 24p it was encoded as as opposed to 30/60p - although it does recognize the disc's pulldown flags when discs with...

Warner DVD's not working thread - watch to make sure they still play

Are Warner still able to issue replacement discs during you-know-what? I'm thinking about sending some discs to them in exchange for corrected/fully functional ones soon, but am not sure if I can go through a disc replacement procedure during the current pandemic.

Disney+ Disney+ Streaming Service (Official Thread)

Not sure if any of you Disney short connoisseurs took notice of this yet, but Grand Canyonscope's stereophonic soundtrack has been condensed to plain old mono on Disney+! As someone who enjoyed the stereo mix that was present on the two DVD sets containing the short, I thought this was a really...

Disney's "Runaway Brain" (1995) in HD?

I believe an HD master of Runaway Brain was created for the Walt Disney Treasures DVD set Mickey Mouse in Living Color: Volume Two (along with Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Prince and the Pauper), but of course, they're all presented in 480p on DVD. The Dailymotion video was obviously taken...

Custom Cover Blu-Ray Custom Cover art thread

Does anyone here accept and take commissions/requests? If so, I have one: I'm looking to see if anybody could make hypothetical cover art for my Walt Disney Treasures Blu-ray successor idea, the Walt Disney Legacy Collection. They obviously aren't real releases (and most likely won't be...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

Hmm...now those are something! (Coincidentally, I was thinking about using SteelBooks and folding the two-volume sets (B&W Mickey, color Mickey, Pluto, and the "Silly Symphonies") and The Chronological Donald down to one set and two volumes, respectively) I was also thinking about including the...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

Although I am aware of the fact that Disney most likely wouldn't produce anything as ambitious as my collection idea today (and I haven't discretely said that they will do anything with any of my ideas), I thought it would be cool if any custom cover artists around here would create hypothetical...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

I appreciate all of the posts about the Treasures and how downhill Disney has gone, but perhaps we could focus at least a bit more on this collection idea of mine, shall we...? I've been thinking about commissioning cover art for certain sets. Do you know of anybody here who can cook up some...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

There were 30(!) Treasures sets released. The lineup consisted of: - Mickey Mouse in Black and White (two volumes) - Mickey Mouse in Living Color (two volumes) - The Chronological Donald (four volumes) - The Complete Goofy - The Complete Pluto (two volumes) - The Adventures of Oswald the Lucky...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

That'll (or that'd) definitely be a given, especially regarding shorts and movies that were excessively cleaned up or DVNR'ed when first released on Blu (Steamboat Willie, Ye Olden Days, Thru the Mirror, Pluto's Christmas Tree(?), Mickey's Christmas Carol, a few color "Silly Symphonies", The...

Walt Disney Legacy Collection (project brainstorming)

I have a feeling you're (for the most part) right... (Between re-releasing certain titles over and over again, ditching certain bonus features, and messing with both the video and/or audio of some of their films, Disney didn't make good use of the Blu-ray format very much. They clearly...

    The DVD day’s are numbered.

Don't forget progressively-encoded transfers! (AFAIK, all VHS' (and LaserDiscs) were interlaced; from DVD onward, video transfers could be encoded as either interlaced or progressive)

    Woody Woodpecker Bluray

You're referring to Celebrating Mickey, I take it? Most of the shorts on that disc didn't look that bad to me, but some, namely Steamboat Willie (same old "pristine" Lowry Digital master; it says something when the disc's (sadly) only black-and-white short's latest official restoration was...
