Athlon XP 1800...can you smell my jealousy?
I can't wait for some good nForce boards! then i will upgrade to something faster than my current setup
in the mean time i chunk along on my Thunderbird 850 @1100mhz on my Asus A7V
CNR stands for Communications Network Riser. What it is, is basically a cheap and nuetered version of a PCI modem/LAN card (or ISA for that matter) that only relies on the card for a bare minimum of duties. The rest of the tasks normally done by a quality PCI card are put onto the load of the...
to tell you the truth, my hard drive actually benchmarked faster once I converted it to NTFS from Fat32(XP Pro) unsing SiSoft's Sandra 2001 benchmark suite. I have an Asus A7V w/ two 30gb Maxtor 7200rpms in ATA 100 Raid 0. very smokin
As much as I love my Geforce 2, IMO you should get a Radeon, Radeon 7500, or 8500 instead when considering a HTPC. The ATI cards have superior image quality and DVD playback (better quality and high frequency RAMDAC). BTW, the 8500 is new and is set to go head to head with the Geforce 3 and...
Take a look at a 95-96 Acura Legend Coupe or Sedan GS. With 3.2 V6 and 6 speed manual, they are one helluva car. I own a 92 Legend with a 5 speed and it is great. It may not be new, but 6spd Legend would easily beat a TL for my money.
No, unfortunatly it does not have the time remaining function to my knowledge. However, up until now I never found myself looking for the feature. It might be a big deal to some people but I don't miss it.
After a few years with my Pioneer D607S DD reciever, I think it is time to upgrade. I was generally happy with the reciever except for the lack of DTS, binding posts, and minor other things. I found the Pioneer 810S for under $300 online and it looks nice, 6.1 sound, 7.1 inputs, etc.
Although...
I have that particular unit and I love it so far. The image quality is great for a non-progressive player. The audio quality is also very good. I do wish it had a coaxial digital out along with the optical just for extra options. So far it has played every DVD perfectly, including scratched...
I just baught an old Marantz reciever at a garage sale. It is model 4140, it says "Stereo 2 Quadrial 4" on the front. It is in wood casing with brushed metal front with only a few cosmetic damages. it has blue dails and level meters. the back is filled with ins and outs like "scope" in and...
170 with one 15"? NOT possible. to get 146 in my friends small car (Rx-7, glass hatchback) it took 2 12" Rockford Fosgate Power DVC (1000 watts rms) and a Rockford Fosgate 500.2 amp. A general rule of thumb is 3db increase is twice as loud, so 4 12"s, two 500.2 amps, 149db, maybe.
I am in need for a new TV. Currently I have a 19" stereo (poor college student I am looking to spend between 3-400 and would like something with component inputs. I saw a JVC 27" for around 330. Anyone else have good recomendations?
actually, the K7V will not run any thunderbird. it is physically impossible as athlon classics are "slot A" meaning the processor goes in like a PCI card, and the thunderbirds are "socket A" which is the more tradition (and economical) approach
Well as a fellow computer geek I'm just tryin to help you correct some errors!
