Well Mike, you kinda got it. If the speakers cost $1000 and they're tagged at $2000, thats a 50% margin. Fairly standard in the industry. IMO, Thats the dumbest marketing I have ever seen. Lets go ahead and let the buying public know we are making $500 in margin on you after the 25% off sale...

A stepped attenuator will surely sound better than a software volume control. Digital attenuation is pretty far down the food chain. A pre amp or integrated with an alps pot or latter attenuator is what I'd be looking for. My vote is for the integrated. Whats your budget? What other...
