Is 2.1 system on a budget possible?

Maybe a soundbar with a sub? Vizio VSB210WS is less than $200 at Tigerdirect.com. I have it without the sub and it's pretty good, though the sub would help a lot. Edit: That Onkyo receiver looks great for $299!

Thanks for the review. Love the film, but will pass on this disappointing release (ditto for Kitano's ZATOICHI).

According to Blu-ray.com, we'll be getting BOTH cuts late 2010, "in time for Halloween." Plus restoration overseen by Friedkin AND Owen Roizman: "The transfers were completed in July, under the supervision of Friedkin and director of photography Owen Roizman, who had had opposing views early...

Announcement: Warner Home Video Blu-Ray Loyalty and HD-DVD Trade Up Program

After my large order in April, I came across a cheap copy of 300 on HD-DVD. I sent that sleeve in with a few other titles I hadn't included in the initial order, and that was fulfilled fairly quickly...maybe 2 weeks?

On Blu-ray? Wow, that could take an eye out. But, uh, anyway...hopefully everyone else who's been waiting will get their BDs soon!

Yes, "complimentary" is a little misleading. These were at no charge after a 3-month backorder wait, so maybe "booby prize"?

So you realized the answer was BOTH...right? But yeah, I'd sent in covers for each. I actually have the Matrix HD-DVD boxset, but only sent in the cover for first film.

Received my 13 discs, including complimentary copies of Matrix & Casablanca (in standard cases without shrink wrap). It was a long wait, but worth it. Thanks, WB!

Announcement: Warner Home Video Blu-Ray Loyalty and HD-DVD Trade Up Program

I will definitely be calling to find out... EDIT: Some folks on Blu-ray.com have mentioned a regular (non-digibook) edition of THE MATRIX being sent. Edited by Tim-H. - 7/22/2009 at 10:17 pm GMT
