Yes, that is plausible. There is a mantle above the fireplace that the TV currently is mounted above. We can run the cable along the wall of that. I think sticking with 3.1 or 3.1.2 (first time hearing of this) sounds like a good plan. Are there any suggestions for specific speakers/receivers...

Oh, wired power is fine. Just can't wire from the front to the back of the room from the receiver. An all in one system sounds fine for us. I'm curious as to why wireless wouldn't work that well. Should I just stick with a 3.1 soundbar or something then?
