Good review. I saw the restoration print twice when it toured in 2009 or so. Monte Carlo was especially striking then as well. The audience was impressed to say the least.

I think you're right. As much as I want to revisit these films, I cannot bring myself to spend $50 on this set. $30 would be ideal.

I can spot the color differences on my TV (A80J 65 inch). I've decided to return my copy to Amazon.

Mr. Harris, do you recall if William Alland's face is more visible on UHD? If memory serves me, his face is shown very briefly but in the shadows.

This would be a great move for Criterion. 4K transfers available and no need to commission new artwork or update packaging. Keep the same packaging and artwork and issue it on UHD/Blu. The DVD set was terrific.

Maybe this is where Criterion steps in and releases the movie on UHD? If Warner Bros is willing to license Kane, anything is possible.
