    MeTV and the Soap-Opera effect

Their internal feeds are in HD, not the stations which broadcast the feeds (which are of course, 480i). The New York station broadcasts MeTV in HD, as well as an area I'm almost close to (alongside Decades, StartTV, and H&I), though that specific station broadcasts both Decades and StartTV in...

Yeah, I forgot that other non-Weigel networks like Cozi are also in HD. Sorry about that.

    MeTV and the Soap-Opera effect

Those are good questions. I don't know if this will answer those, but something else I've noticed, is that when a lot happens on screens, there would be some frames not interpolated, and instead showing duplicated frames. Another weird thing that happened in a Season 2 Buck Rogers episode, "The...

    MeTV and the Soap-Opera effect

Seeing that you haven't watched MeTV in a while, I can totally understand that. I've noticed the speedup as well, but in cases like that, it's both the visuals and audio being sped-up. What MeTV is doing though, is adding interpolated frames for the show to play smoother, instead of speeding it...

    MeTV and the Soap-Opera effect

Sorry if this is the wrong place or site to post this, but I've seen some people talk about MeTV here now and then, and I don't know of any other site to post this. Still, if a mod is reading this, please move this to the correct sub-forum, if available. A few years ago, I've noticed that MeTV...

Blu-Ray Wish List for Vintage Television

Well, here goes... My Blu-ray / 4K (w/ HDR) wish-list for vintage TV: The Addams Family The Andy Griffith Show (Complete Series) The Beverly Hillbillies Batman* Bewitched (Both 4:3 and 16:9 versions of episodes on each disc) The Brady Bunch The Donna Reed Show Dennis the Menace The Dick Van...

CBS Series DVD's and possible Blu Revisits

It's been a few years ago, so I forgot the source. Pretty sure it's not a reliable one either. If that's the case though, I wonder why the HD versions aren't even available, considering it's as somewhat popular as Happy Days or Star Trek.

CBS Series DVD's and possible Blu Revisits

What's preventing Seasons 7-11 of Happy Days being released on DVD, as well as Seasons 6-12 of My Three Sons? For Happy Days, it's probably music rights, but I don't know if that's the real reason. A Blu-Ray (HD) release of The Brady Bunch would also be great, but as far as I know/heard, an HD...

    2021 TV DVD Guesses?

Here are my guesses, but ranged from most to least likely. Babylon 5: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) The Incredible Hulk: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) The Six Million Dollar Man: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) The Bionic Woman: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) Happy Days: The Seventh Season (DVD)...

TV shows and TV movies gone W I D E

I personally like the 16:9 version of Bewitched, as it gives the series a bit of a cinematic look, combined with HD. If Sony we're to ever release the series on Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray (a 4K remaster is in the works by NHK, last I heard), what they should do, is put both the 4:3 and 16:9 versions...

    FLINTSTONES ON BLU-RAY

The prints they showed are the 90s Turner prints, the same ones that aired on CN/Boomerang.

TV shows and TV movies gone W I D E

Since Bewitched has been brought up... The spin-off series, Tabitha, is also in 16:9, as well as HD, on CTV Throwback. I don't have the series on DVD, so I can't compare it with the original 4:3 version.

    MASH and HD

I mean a soap-opera effect (in 30fps, not 60fps) has been added. This video shows the issue. Watch between 6:38 and 8:11, which shows part of the Buck Rogers opening, both unaffected and affected by the issue.

    MASH and HD

As of either February or March, of this year, Me-TV is now airing the 16:9 HD prints of M*A*S*H. What I don't like about it, is that they're up-converted from the original 24fps to 30fps by Weigel Broadcasting, the company who owns Me-TV.
