Exactly what I used until I could get some rabbit ears. Just disconnected from the reciever and plugged into tv. Definately need to run the auto program for your tv's tuner while you are in antenna mode.
I use a combo set of bunny ears I bought for $10. It has both the loop and the two aerials. I get great reception. I only use them for the local abc (a hearst-argyle company) feed since they are in a tiff with our cable company (cox). They want to charge cox for their hd feed and naturally cox...
I have both and I can't tell a difference although they are only three foot cables. I think I would spend the extra dough for the premium cable if you are going with the 25 footer. Be forwarned, these are large cables and you can't just "tuck" them along the baseboards etc.
Take a look at the Sony SXRDs too. They are coming down in price a little bit. Awesome picture and no rainbow effect. The SXRD is Sony's version of Lycos and has the three chips. I agree that the led's have a very promisng future.
Monoprice has their own house brand of cables. I use a lot of different cables from them..component, hdmi, dvi, vga, they all work great. The premium component cables are quite robust. You can't go wrong with monoprice.
Check it out here. http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/serv...dParentID=7870 there are a couple to choose from that are $100. By wireless, I think he is referring to the receivers having built in fm transmitters. You tune in your radio to an unused frequency, and the sirius transmits to that...
I think I would go for the pj if it is a dedicated movie/gaming room with that kind of viewing distance. I saw that Infocus currently is selling the refurbed 5000 for $650. 720p for a relatively small price.
It's great! I have had it for about a month. No complaints here. It came down to the jvc dila and the sony sxrd for me. Either way, your brother won't be dissappointed. If he goes with rear projection, definately go with a lcos set. Both mentioned are lcos. Heres a couple of forums on the sxrd...
The JVC Dila 1080p was my other choice. I definately would go with a lcos set (Dila or Sxrd) if you get a rear projection. They are worth the extra cash. SD stuff looks better than on a regular dlp rear projection, but still not great. Thank gosh Cox is adding the Deuce in HD later this fall...
I have converted a few fridges/freezers for friends. I like the towers on the top myself. Obviously, this is a rather permanent modification. About the only tools you will probably have to buy is the proper size hole bit... about $5 and it attaches to your drill. Just be careful, the metal disc...
I dont know the answer Bryan, but I would like to know too. I have been in the same situation as Carl, winning bidder did not pay. It was a small item. Less than $20. Rather than risk spite feedback, I left it alone and filed a non-paying bidder report and re-listed. I will email ebay and see...
