yeah, definately a reference movie for subs. when i was watching it, i knew i would see posts in a few days of somoene breaking their poor sub. i had it cranked as high as my speakers would want to go, and even kicked on an extra boost to my subs. they handled it in stride. gotta love dual...

Scott, yes, ive been waiting until ive had my current ones for a year (velodyne guidelines). so, i just ordered them last week, should show up any day now.
Scott, i have tried numerous times through email or through the forum to get jesse to visit either my store or my house for demos. the company i work for is one of the main sponsors of the rocky mountain audio fest. i was there as a sponsor last year for 2 days. our company has the largest...
jesse needs to do a little more of his own leg work. sure, krell and sunfire is nice, but the stuff he's talking about is needle-in-eardrum low end high-end. i was one of the krell trainers for colorado, and the low end stuff is junk in my opinion. and, sunfire is expensive for what it is. there...
here are the perfect stands: https://www.sanus.com/cgi-bin/web_st....html&cart_id= sanus steel foundations. not too pricey, but nice. can be filled with sand. i think they are about $150/pair new. you could get them for less from someone willing to give you a little discount on them...
ive even invited him over to my house to listen to a few things (i own many of the products he's asking about). in addition, i SELL many of them too. i work at the largest high end audio retailer in colorado. sigh. he just needs to get some cash together, figure out what he actually wants, and...
the amount of electrical noise that a computer power supply introduces into a circuit (especially a receiver) is phenomenal. add fans the the mix and you just added 50+dB worth of electrical noise into your receiver. not the "best" thing to do.
last time i opened one up, those rotels has a heat sensor attached to the heatsinks and back to the main board. they will probably go into protect mode way before they will overheat and distort. i also think its the source, not the amp. its very very very hard to get one of those rotels to...
i would look elsewhere than your source... a better amp, possibly a sub for the speakers, etc... might be a better upgrade than the source. i have typically seen that the cd player or transport has one of the smallest impacts on a system.
