Well, I'm certainly not trying to be coy intentionally. As you may (or may not) know, I had some serious issues with BD.com and the way that it was being run, moderated, and things that were allowed to be said/done by a certain group of posters and not others. I have not posted on BD.com...

Penton has not ever worked for a "third part house that Sony did some contracting with".

Thanks Jason, good to see you here too. Long time no talk! El Aurens has been my avatar here and at AVS for a *very* long time (even before BD/HD-DVD were in existence). I've been longing for Lawrence on BD since the format was released. However, unlike many others, I have not bitched...

There you go. And Penton was/is friends with Paidgeek. My assumption is that the majority of what could be considered "inside information" that has been posted by Penton came from Paidgeek.

By the way, I would add to my above post by stating that Penton *was* responsible for getting the real Sony insider "Paidgeek" to post at AVS. Paidgeek had no problem being certified as an insider at AVS. Ah....the irony.

Actually everyone's first clue should have been way back when he tried to become certified as an "insider" at AVS and it didn't happen. They required certain references in order to confirm insider status. Plenty of true insiders were able to provide the limited information being requested to...

That sums it up about as well as it could be summed up! I very much appreciate the *reasonable* moderation that I have seen exercised here recently by Ron and others.

I think you probably could (should) have added the words "with a few notable exceptions" to the end of that statement.

All the more reason for them to "get on with it" already! ;)
