The V has something like 2-3MB ram, I think the Vx has a 6MB. The V series came out after the IIIs, and it is a nice slick package. I've had a V for the last 4 years and it has served me well.
Friend at work dropped off some literature on Final speakers and wanted an opinion. Most of the pictures look CG, and copies of Martin Logan style. It does look impressive for $3.6k setup. The "representive" told my friend they could order some for a demo, but it sounds like the demo would come...
Highly recommend Linksys BEFSR41. It goes for around $70. Linksys is very good about coming out with firmware updates as needed. Plus, it is nice not having to leave a computer on all the time.
I think that you have to be on Win98 special edition before sharing really starts working well. I'm pretty sure internet access sharing can't work, but can't say for sure about file and printing.
Did you think about just dropping some new ethernet cards in? They're only like $15 a pop for...
Intel is good. I prefer AMD Athlons, more bang for the buck. I would suggest Newegg and just putting it together yourself. If you want the wow factor, I like rack mountable ATX size cases.
Suggested configuration
Epox 8kha+ motherboard
AMD Athlon 1800
Crucial 256MB DDR SDRAM
Nvidia...
I just built a PC after consulting Tomshardware site and purchasing the bits from NewEgg.com (excellent, excellent service!!!)
You'll need a case. Just get one w/ at least a 300 watt power supply. There's plenty to choose from, but you want one for ATX (which is pretty much all of them)...
I recently received their fall catalog, and I have to be impressed with the style and prices. I was wondering if there are any CS advocates on this board. Also, is there any way to test them out?

warranties aren't worth it.
the current consumer reports has a nice article, but basicly by the time the warranty is up, you'd be better off with something new.
Sorry, I don't have the model number handy, but I have a 32" Sony Wega, one step below the 3D comb filter. I can go in the menu and change to 16:9, but when I go back to tv, then back to video 3, it always resets back to a normal ratio. Is there a way to keep it in 16:9???
Thanks,
Robert
I have a friend who is boardering on artist when it comes to wood. He's willing to custom construct a two peice entertainment center for me out of cherry (my favorite wood). Does anyone have resources that I can start for a template?
TIA,
