The V has something like 2-3MB ram, I think the Vx has a 6MB. The V series came out after the IIIs, and it is a nice slick package. I've had a V for the last 4 years and it has served me well.

Building is the way to go. You get the lowest price, best hardware, and it really is simple. If you can hook up a vcr, you can build.

I just built a PC after consulting Tomshardware site and purchasing the bits from NewEgg.com (excellent, excellent service!!!) You'll need a case. Just get one w/ at least a 300 watt power supply. There's plenty to choose from, but you want one for ATX (which is pretty much all of them)...

warranties aren't worth it. the current consumer reports has a nice article, but basicly by the time the warranty is up, you'd be better off with something new.

Sorry, I don't have the model number handy, but I have a 32" Sony Wega, one step below the 3D comb filter. I can go in the menu and change to 16:9, but when I go back to tv, then back to video 3, it always resets back to a normal ratio. Is there a way to keep it in 16:9??? Thanks, Robert
