    Subwoofer recommendations needed

In the $800-$1000 range, the most popular subs on these forums tend to be the SVS box (PB2-ISD) and cylinder (such as the PCi+) and the Hsu box (VTF-3) and cylinder (TN-1220) subs. Another sub that looks promising but isn't quite here yet is the UFW-12 from av123.

I agree with Ed that the way this thread played out was most unfortunate. I am happy that Ed and I have reconciled our differences and, as far as I am concerned, this is now ancient history. I have offered to help Ed in any way I can should he decide to pursue the testing further. I extend...

    NAD T752 Remote Isn't Working?

OK, I've made more headway by playing around (manual wasn't correct on one minor thing). Ignore my previous post.

    NAD T752 Remote Isn't Working?

I'm in the process of getting my HT system set up and have run into an annoying problem. The HTR-2 remote doesn't seem to be working correctly. The only buttons on the remote that seem to be working correctly are the Amp button followed by On or Off. This combination will turn the receiver on...

It's perfectly OK if someone wants to perform an analysis however they choose. I just don't want my name associated with it and I will be one of those who challenges how "scientific" the analysis was. As far as your concerns about whether the parties involved get to set the terms, that would...

Unforrtunately, there are some unpleasant things I have to deal with before I get to the heart of this posting.

I have been at work and this has been my first chance to catch up on this thread. I would like to propose that we do this using a "benchmark" approach. With a benchmark approach, the general procedure to follow would be: o Define what the benchmark is to determine o Define the criteria...

I think an objective comparison can be made between subs if (1) the tests are performed using a consistent scientific basis and (2) the tests are performed by someone who has no bias going in. I think if either of these are not true, then the results are likely to be biased, maybe not even...

To a certain extent I'm being an antagonist here since I've not committed yet to what subwoofer I am going to get (its the last piece of my HT system). However, I am with Curtis on the "bigger isn't necessarily better" argument. If I carried that argument to an extreme, then using a V8 engine to...
