My old 27" Mitsubishi dies on me. It was a hand-me-down. As a replacement present I received a 20" Samsung Dynaflat TXL2091 direct-view tv. It has S-video and Component inputs.
However, I'm a little worried about the size. Is a 20" going to be big enough? It's my main viewing tv in my...
A couple of things I forgot to mention...
I plan to double box the dvd player with big-bubble wrap in one box with that box packed with peanuts or something else in a seperate box. It will ship insured as well.
Secondly, I am not sure if it was assumed or not, but shipping is extra. I...
Unit is in great shape. I still have the original remote. The player still has the 96/24 sticker on the front fold-down door. I do not have the original box or instructions. I am selling in order to fund a Playstation 2 purchase. I also have sinced moved up to a HTPC as my DVD player.
Most...
Ok, here's mine. I'm 24 and a full-time Senior in college. I took a couple of years off from school earlier to work, but decided to go back for my degree.
TV: Used Mitsubishi 27" (the tube blew recently)
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V995
DVD: Sony DVP-S7700 (looking to sell this too)
Speakers...
Mike,
I though about that, but I wasn't sure if I could get a good matching center speaker. Does that really matter all that much? What rears and center are you using or suggest?
Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I will keep the Yamaha and save some money for a dvd player and/or...
In case you have not done this, you might have better luck posting it at the AVS Forums. They seem to like CRT front projection setups a lot more. And it's a cool forum too. Good luck on your sale.
I have an old Yamaha RX-V995 that's about two years old. I never bought a 5.1 speaker setup, because I went back to living in a dorm before I could finish building a home setup. So I ended up using a pair of DCM 10" full-range floorstanders for the front. Well, I have sinced moved out and am...
Toshiba offers both a 20" & 24" in the 20AF41 and 24AF41. They are flat-screen and have both s-video and component inputs. I'm looking for one as well fpr my video game consoles. The cheapest I have found the 20" is $280 at J&R. The 24" ups the price a bit more to $400 or $450 I think...
Yeah, that was one thing I noticed when I looked at the Wega. It seemed "bigger" than my old 27" in terms of picture size. I've got some thinking to do. I still have not made up my mind. If I can get this thing going with a CRT projector then I will be happy with a regular 32" TV, but I...
Ok, I was all set to go with a Toshiba 32A41 for $499 at Best Buy. I am trying to get a used CRT projector for my main movie watching. However, that might not take place till November or December. Either way, I was going to get a television to use for regular NTSC viewing and sports.

I was looking at those AR9's too, but I had a question about the next model up. The AR5 I think. Over at AR's website they list the upper models as having powered subs built into them. Would it be worth it to go for a pair of AR5's. At only $300 more, that would cover the price of a seperate...
So, is this rebate still there? I got the new flyer for today and they list the Sony again, but it's still advertised at $199. I am going to check Best Buy probably tomorrow afternoon, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had any recent luck with getting it cheaper than the $199 price tag...
You might want to try entering your zip code at this site and get the local flyer for Best Buy that week to make sure:

Here in Nashville, they list the Sony WM40 at $199 in the store as well on the flyer.
Richard
I would check into a used CRT projector with low hours and possibly use a HTPC (Home Theater PC) as the DVD player/scaler.
You might want to check out the forums at AVS Forums .
