I just called about the 2200 and they said that they have none in stock and haven't had any for a while....and that they are due in the 25th of this month. So it sounds like a run around.
There are so few differences in all these players that I think reliability should be a key factor...and compatibility is ok too. So I'd suggest a Mits DD-8040 for around 250 bucks. I'm sure your 65413 will like it. They are coming out with an 8050 this month...but will probably be more moola...
OK...I think I get it. Yes, I have a reciever that can handle DTS/Dolby.etc..etc. (HK AVR330) so it looks like the 910 would work ok. I'm just looking to get by with a good player. Since I don't have any DVD-A or SACD dvd's right now....and not planning on it in the near future...the 910 seems...
The way I see it is that the 910 does not have a DTS/Dolby dig decoder. But it has the cable outputs for them. I don;t get it. Can someone splain? My crappy dvd doen not have DTS but has Dolby Dig. So I need to replace it with a DTS capable unit.
Setup so far... Mitsu 65413 big screen tv with HDTV from cable company....which is killer. The surround is an AVR330 with Polk Rti8's Csi3, and Rti4's.....with PSW505 sub. My DVD now is a combo vcr/dvd for 130 bucks. I don't need the vcr on this setup and can move the unit to another room so it...
TV+AVR+SPKR=4K X .1= 400 BUCKS. That sounds just about wharer I am at with the cables. I went high end ov video and dig cables....low end on the rest. The DVD was a quick cheapie I needed ...and it is my first DVD. My point of course is to justify getting a better DVD...... LOL! It is a hard...
Thanks for the links etc. and all the information to help make my choices. There was very little, by the way, of information on seperates for HT. All I found was info about integrated amplifiers...(though I quickly scanned thru)and those aren't really seperates ...are they! I guess if I cannot...
I'm not that confused....really. I'm sure my terminology is off....but I know what a typical receiver is.....and I have one. It is a Carver I bought ten years ago...the one that is 220W/channel (2). I need a surround setup now...and was going to start fresh for that....and move my receiver to...
Oppps! Yeah you are right. I forgot that you need a preamp and an amp. This one is an amp to supply the speakers. The preamp would be the unit that has the "pre" to the self powered sub. Sorry man.....I've just been working to many other angles these days to remember. So the preamp would be the...
I was looking at a Carver.....and I did not notice a sub out...but just 5 channel outs....which makes snnse since most subs have their own power..but... How do you hook up a sub then??
DO all the new avr's trsnsfer HDTV cleanly? Do I need to buy something higher end to get this? I have a 65 inch mits rear p and am hooking up surround. I just assumed that any of the new boxes will be adequate.
