They're saying fall, so probably October-November. In an interview Soderbergh confirmed the Criterion release and said there will be mountains of extras, including lots of deleted scenes and documentaries.
I still don't understand why WB stopped with the Golden Collections. I thought those were the absolute pinnacle of classic animation on DVD, alongside the Disney Treasures.
Sounds very awesome. Screwball comedy hasn't been very well released, apart from maybe Warner's Classic Comedies set from a few years ago (with Bringing Up Baby etc.).
This would be very cool. I hope they do go ahead with this. Currently the transfers are pretty washed out and lack definition. If they could do a true HD restoration from the original film elements... wow!
