While it may have a great back story it’s not a great film but an important film for its time IMHO Rather hokey and driven by star power alone. Its subject would be much more effectively handled in a few years later by Norman Lear on TV on many of his hit shows.

Curious- Is there muchfilm grain intact to get that image quality? I don't recall from seeing this theatrically and in my Twilight Time release for this to be a big budget visual treat and more akin to a goood road movie.
