Rosty, an excellent review of the HK Flagship and am sorry to hear that you are somehow unhappy about it's functionality. A lot of negatives you have described may actually be seen as positives for many of us here. While I understand that having a "Master" channel settings does help, I'd rather...
It's strange but I went back to my local Best Buy and do not see the Air Link logo anywhere on the 1012K but it is defintely there on my 2012K. The 2012K as I know is defintely the 45TX and I cannot frankly make out if the 1012K is or not. Hopkins definitely knows this Pioneer stuff so I would...
The 2012K which I own is the same unit as the 45tx and not the 1012K. The 1012K has 90W/C compared to the 2012Ks 100W. I have seen the 1012K at Best Buy and it is not the 45TX.
I don't know what you mean by more "powerful". Pioneer uses Motorola 48 bit processors in most of their Elite and non Elite receivers. The non Elite receivers uses one of these while the Elite receivers use two of these 48 bit processors.
I disagree about last years models. I have the Pioneer 2012K and that has the dual motorola processors and I believe the 2012K is last years model. The 47 and the 43 also had dual motorola processors.
Are you seeking side by side pics of the 1014 and 52TX? Why? they are the same receivers and the question (for me) was if the 52TX is a true Elite and I conclude for myself that it is not. It is a fantastic receiver for the street price but it is not an elite. All Elites have the Dual 48bit...
Where in my posts did I say that the Elite dealer degraded either one of the receivers? He just gave me his opinion and as an Elite dealer, it came across as an honest opinion to me. I mean I am there with a keen interest in the 52TX and he honestly tells me what he thinks about the two...
If you think the 1014 is an Elite then that's fine. I was just stating what the dealer told me without forcing me to buy the Elite. He did not even have the 1014 on hand to sell me but was willing to suggest me a place where I could find one. I look at the 1014 as the best Pioneer line receiver...
He was actually trying to save me money by telling me to buy the 1014 instead. He said the "real" Elite line begins after the 52TX and that the 52TX is not a true Elite receiver but only an Elite in name.
While most here know they are the same receivers, some here claimed that the 1014 was actually an Elite. While at a dealer today, I was told that instead of the Pioneer 1014 being the Elite, the 52TX was actually a Pioneer under the Elite label. It made sense because the chasis and the body...
The HKs are well known for underrating their power but since the HK230 is almost at the bottom of the heap, it is hard to tell. However, it looks like you have speakers that can be easily driven so the HK should be a good fit no matter what.
OR, you could return the receiver to NAD and tell them it's full of bugs and you need a new one.:D NAD is used to seeing receivers returned that are full of bugs!:D
