I have seen this at Walmart on one of the speaker cables they carry. I believe the main reason is so that you can differentiate between the two...so that you don't hook it up the wrong way. But I am not sure if color is the only thing that separates these cables. Anybody else know about this.

I was looking for one too but I prefer to get a 110-120V fan just so i don't have to buy another power supply. Are these usually much louder than the 12V fans? Also, are there any adapters available to convert 120V AC to 12V DC that will work well with these? Thanks.
