    PAL - NTSC Converter?

So my in-laws moved into the US with a HUGE collection of VHS tapes - obviously in PAL:frowning: They did bring in a multi-system VCR (one that can play PAL or NTSC tapes) but didn't realize that they will also need a TV which can display PAL. So now we have two options: 1. Buy a multi-system...

Went to Sears for a Pricematch, got bs'ed, help!

In April 2002, I bought a Yamaha receiver from Sears and got them to pricematch with an online vendor. Things had gotten a little more complex in my case as the local Sears had run out of the model (it was on clearance) and it was only available at sears.com. Ironically, it was a lot more...

    Pal/NTSC TV??

Thanks Jack. As I said in my original post, changing the tv is NOT an option. Are their converters available out there that can do this?? Thanks.

    Pal/NTSC TV??

I wasn't sure which forum this should go in so if an administrator finds a better place for this question, please feel free to move it. My sister-in-law has a multi-function VCR (can play NTSC/PAL) which she has used for the last couple of years without any problems (she has only used it for...

    Silver/Bronze Speaker Wire

I have seen this at Walmart on one of the speaker cables they carry. I believe the main reason is so that you can differentiate between the two...so that you don't hook it up the wrong way. But I am not sure if color is the only thing that separates these cables. Anybody else know about this.

    sears pricematching

Craig: Sears should match "any" online retailer. I recently got them to match shopsunshine.com (which it not listed on their web page) for my Yamaha receiver. They have a list of "approved" retailers that they price match (NOT the list on their website). If your retailer is on this list...

Anyone have this Elite audio rack (El-501)?

Can't figure out how I edit my own post so I'll just add another reply. Just to add to what I said above, the back of most of these racks is made up of a "cardboard" type material. When you initially get the rack, this cardboard has perforations which can be removed for cable management. If...

Anyone have this Elite audio rack (El-501)?

Marvin: I have a Yamaha HTR-5460. Here's what I got for dimensions from the yamaha website: Dimensions W x H x D = 18" x 9.25" x 20.5" Weight 29.75 lbs. Note that I also want to get the Sony CD changer at some stage - which is why I checked. The dimensions according to the Somy website...

Anyone have this Elite audio rack (El-501)?

I had the same issue when I was looking about 3 weeks ago. I found this rack at www.goodguys.com (although its out of stock now) and actually called them to ask about the internal dimensions. Guess what? They don't know. I am actually still looking and am starting to lean toward the...

    Good (quiet) fan, Recommendations Please...

I was looking for one too but I prefer to get a 110-120V fan just so i don't have to buy another power supply. Are these usually much louder than the 12V fans? Also, are there any adapters available to convert 120V AC to 12V DC that will work well with these? Thanks.

    pioneer sd-533HD5 in Colorado

I seem to have set myself on getting a Pioneer sd-533HD5 but the only problem is that I haven't seen one yet:) Now I know that it doesn't help to see much on showroom floors and so on but we just feel a little uneasy about spending that kind of money without really seeing what the TV looks like...

    Toshiba, Hitachi, Pioneer or Mitsubishi

Thanks guys. GarryW, upon doing about 15 minutes of research on Sharp HDTVs, it does look like a great set, except I did see a lot of mention of the vertical line problem (it might only be on the 4H series). Are you getting that problem on the 5H too? Again, please keep the responses...

    Toshiba, Hitachi, Pioneer or Mitsubishi

Yeah, you are right in thinking that my feelings about the Sony brand in general is that its overpriced. I will definietly consider it now. But how does the 57HW40 (I think this is the model) compare to the rest of these TVs on on all the picture, reliability, fexibility and features (one thing...

    Toshiba, Hitachi, Pioneer or Mitsubishi

Ok, I am starting to build my home theater and am completely confused with what TV to buy. I am interested in buying a WS HDTV monitor in the 53"-57" size. We have a 17' X 12' room so if any of you think the 57" is going to be too big let me know (I guess our viewing distance will be about 14'...
