More ideas on components... http://www.audioholics.com/buying-gu...onic-pt-ae900u The recommended components here are for a pricier HT package, but it gives you an idea of what sort of components you can integrate at your price point (pick and choose, and choose good stuff!). Are you able...
More specifically, try to get the tweeters as close to your seated listening level as you can, and your center channel tweeter be within +/-2 vertical feet of the L/R channel tweeters (so that the imaging doesn't 'pull' up or down). Dispersion is more about listening area coverage.
Well, because the room isn't closed off, it's more like 15X30. Regardless of which sub you choose, you won't have enough oomph to fill that space. If this will be the place where your HT will reside for the forseeable future, I'd choose none of the above and save your pennies for at least a PB12.
Other ideas... New, how 'bout http://www.outlawaudio.com/promo_pages/promo_2200.html (buy 4 get 5th free - stretches the budget a little though) Used, how 'bout http://cgi.ebay.com/Carver-Sunfire-C...QQcmdZViewItem or http://cgi.ebay.com/HARMAN-KARDON-2-...QQcmdZViewItem or...
Well, it seems to me that it's not a waste if you already own the thing - you're just redeploying it in another location. Yes, it's being underutilized but hey, it's yours! You are right. For what you can get for it, you'll just end up getting another preamp that *might* be as clean as the...
Alon's got it. They key to gaining WAF on the control front is to get a GOOD universal remote. Lots of people like the Harmony's. Personally I'm a Universal Remote fan (I use one and have installed many). The days of having to use multiple remotes are long gone. With respect to being able to...
I know this is the unofficial SVS hangout but... If you can stretch your budget to $599++ consider the soon to be released MFW-15 (no official product listing yet, you'd need to call the guys at AV123.com). Here's some info - http://av123forum.com/showthread.php?t=15788
HI Dixit, I'm not a big fan of onboard video processors. IMO a receivers main job is to handle audio and the video chain should be handled separately. In an ideal world this should be so, but there are system limitations and budgetary constraints so you do what you must. Having said that, I...
No, you can't go DVI/HDMI->RGB. If the Mac is outputting DVI-A you could try going to VGA with an adapter, into the inFocus (does it have VGA input?). You should test that HDMI->MI-DA cable. I've read that it should work.
I think when Sean says 'amp' he means his receiver. But, that still doesn't get you closer to an answer Sean. It's not clear what connections you have available on your receiver. If your receiver does not have a digital connection as an option, you are left with either a) connectiing 6 or 8...
Your speakers have balanced in's? Are you running powered speakers? These are line level out's from the pre-amp. There's also the Emotiva... http://www.emotiva.com/expandedpages/dmc1expanded.html
WOW. Do you really have all 10 filters going? You really should not ever NEED more than 3 or 4 at the most. What frequency does the second line from the left on the graph represent? I'm assuming that's 40Hz. So, I think you could possible put notch on 30Hz, and cut it about 3dB. See how that...
Very interesting discussion, as I'm in the position to get either an AVR or a pre-pro with HDMI. It'd be nice to take advantage of HDMI signal path for the HD audio formats coming out, instead of having to go analog from the player. Was going to pull the trigger on the 990 but am having second...
