    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - Dance Fools, Dance -- in Blu-ray

My top 2 Crawford not yet released on Blu have go to be "Humoresque" and "A Woman's Face". Of her early 30s, I would love to see a restored "Possessed" (1931) and I'm praying "Letty Lynton" is released once the copyright expires in the next year!:)

Colin, Joan would quickly nail it by the end of 1931 with "Possessed" (1931). I love most of her movies from 1930 until late 1934. But the code kicks in and MGM starts regulating her to fluff.

    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - Anna Christie -- in Blu-ray

For those counting, that's twenty-four films in fifteen years. The studio system in high gear. Garbo got off easy when you compare her to Crawford's output in the same time period. I believe she was at 50+ by 1941. Unimaginable how MGM could pump this films out!!

    2023-2024 NFL Season

The interception in the end zone and the Kelce forced fumble happened because we came up with the big plays when we needed to. Eagles outplayed them at the end,. We earned the W.

    2023-2024 NFL Season

The Eagles outplayed KC in the 2nd half and left them scoreless. The 2 red zone turnovers and dropped passes were the fault of KC. How does this make the Eagles "lucky"? The Eagles came back and won.

    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ Romeo and Juliet (1968) – in Blu-ray

Well fresh off the heels of Henry 8 chopping wives heads off for something that was his fault..not sure there was a concept that women had the right to consent for anything. Let's time travel some of you back to 1590 (or 1968) as a very attractive 15 yr old girl and you can let us know how it...

    Pre-Order Rain (1932) 90th Anniversary (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Ok so I don’t understand this term “good time gal”. I think it’s a man’s romanticized interpretation of a prostitute. I love Joan’s interpretation because it’s from a woman’s point of view and she always seems the most modern of all the Old Hollywood stars. A woman today can easily understand...

    Davis vs. Crawford

Robert 100% agree. I actually think it’s a no brainer. Stanwyck could do it all…pre-code, melodrama, comedy, film noir, westerns. What fascinates me is how seemless she glides from one genre to another. And by the 1950s when roles for these great ladies were drying up, Stanwyck never relied on...

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex – in Blu-ray

Yes I remember that. It was very odd. And the title card looked like someone just typed that title on a piece of construction paper!? Was it a copyright issue?

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex – in Blu-ray

Robert, I cannot wait for this blu ray. When Warner Archive uploaded the restored clips a couple of weeks ago...I couldn't believe what I was seeing. To my untrained eye, it looked like something I've never seen before....and you just confirmed it. PERFECTION! The folks at Warner Archives have...

    Mommie Dearest (1981) - Paramount Presents - June 1, 2021

ha or the opposite...her daughter and the filmmakers were inspired by Crawford's films and embellished many a story. "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend..."

Rain, 1932, Joan Crawford to receive a Blu-ray release in 2020

Great news. The restoration of “Rain” (1932) continues. I just got a reply today. vcistoreadminsays: Sorry for the delay in responding. The RAIN project has been on hold due to the Library of Congress closing because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They officially opened last week and we should be...

Sudden Fear (1952) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Thanks Casey. No war at all. Just a discussion. It IS a matter of taste. I just don't get the cliched dismissal of Crawford's talent.

Sudden Fear (1952) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

This is great news. I saw the restored print at Film Forum and it was like seeing it for the first time. She is amazing in the second half of the film which plays like a Silent movie. No one. And I mean no one...could play those scenes like Crawford, especially when trapped in that closet with...
