Does anyone know if the effected DVD plants, that caused these DVD failures, were used for overseas releases too? just wondering if buying older DVD releases from Europe or Australia is better option.
DVD Download is one of the specifications for the DVD format, used for MOD releases. DVD Download on the covers would just mean, the discs meets the current specifications (check http://www.dvdforum.org/mi-current_DVD.htm if curious )
Actually they have, all the more recent DVD releases have reduced the amount of discs too much, where the compression is much more noticeable. A perfect example would be The Flintstones: Movies and Specials, which is only two discs.
There are other flaws, caused by the reduced space too. Like...
The re-releases under the Diamond Collection used less discs, so the video quality won't look good on a large screen. They often dropped the extras from the previous DVD releases too.
The later seasons of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, which have not been released in widescreen on DVD so far.
Anyone have any idea of why Universal never releases the widescreen of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess? there have been so many...
If an older cartoon series has not been released on DVD by now, there is little chance of any DVD release. And forget anything owned by Disney, they rarely release any of their cartoon series.
Barely any older cartoon series are released on DVD worldwide now, other than re-releases. With most...
If you look at the images posted with reviews, 'Widescreen' is listed on the back cover. Unfortunately PBS have been cropping all the recent re-releases of Garfield.

The complete series of Teen Titans was...

Krypto the Super Dog
Land Before Time, The (TV series)
Loonatics Unleashed
Shaggy and Scooby Get a Clue!
Teen Titans
What's New Scooby-Doo?
The re-release of...
The complete series just arrived, and I can offer some helpful information:
All the episodes are in full frame (4:3), the later seasons aren't widescreen.
The video is '1080i' and the sound is lossy 'Dolby Digital 2.0'.
I have only looked briefly at the episodes so far, but it seems like an...
There is an unboxing video on YouTube, which shows the first seven releases of Hanna Barbera Diamond Collection line.
The first season of The Flinstones is all single sided discs, so hopefully all the re-releases are using single sided discs now.
I was just hoping for DVD re-releases with only single sided discs, similar to DVD re-releases from Universal Studio. I have had a few double sided discs go bad over the years, so I would upgrade to avoid them.
