Sorry if I wasn't clear. I use a separate Digital Optical cable for DirecTV and BlueRay to feed audio into the receiver. Based on my research last night I think my 9 year old receiver is the limiting factor in this equation.

Am I the only one? I prefer to send my video signal directly from the DirectTV box and the blue ray player directly into the TV. I also use digital optical cable to send audio to my receiver. That way I don't have to turn the receiver on just to watch the news and I don't have to worry about...
I purchased this very nice entertainment system for my new TV and it has this cutout for a sound bar. Since I have tower speakers and didn't like looking at that empty space I built a "fake" sound bar. Cheesy or not?
Thanks to all. The first thing I did was to connect to my wireless internet and install the updates. So far I have only watched a few blue ray disc from Netflix and the picture is stunning.

I just received mine last week directly from the manufacturer. This is probably way more than I need but I liked the fact that it did not include the streaming services and since I have a new LG OLED65E6P I figured it would be a good match.
Does anyone use this type of speaker isolation foam? I have my bookshelf speakers sitting on top of my entertainment system and this looks like it might help with vibration. Any thoughts?
