Could you explain a little more why you would blow your sub? Most of the time you won't be running at a volume level where you would be acheiving 1000+ watts. If you set your gain well and don't play at excessive levels I don't think you would blow the sub?
But it is still possible to use my ipod as my source. As it is only a temporary solution, I think I can deal with the sound quality. It looks like the best bang for the buck would be the Outlaw 770 amplifier, any other opinions? This would give me a good option to creating a good HT and...
Not really looking into a receiver since I think seperates are the way to go for upgradability and SQ purposes. I would like an amp that I would beable to use in my future system. I guess I'll put a price point of ~700-800. I'm not worried too much about the sound, running my ipod with a...
Here is my situation: I am going on a training program for a company and they are supplying about a 1 year temporary housing (apartment I guess). What I want to do is get an amplifier to plug my laptop/ipod or whatnot to be my source and than when I get a more permanent home get a pre/pro and...

Resistance in series: R = R1 + R2 + ... Resistance in parallel: 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... So you can wire two speakers you get a 16 ohm load. Do this with another set you have the other 16 ohm load. Then you parallel this configuration to get an 8 ohm load. I hope that helps. You...
Want to learn some tricks and such so I can improve in my box building. Right now I have a good straight edge for the circular saw, a radial arm saw that needs to be realigned, a router, and of course a drill. Never taken any type of shop classes so I need to learn a little. Thanks
There's a table saw on sale at Menards for $88...wondering it was worth buying for DIY stuff? Its a 10" table saw with stand and 28tooth carbide tipped blade. Looks to be a pro-tech from the ad. Any info would be awesome.
