The original release date was ALWAYS the 27th. Amazon fooled a lot of people for some reason.

I thought they did a great job with this reboot and wish it had lasted longer. Since the hope for a complete Blu-Ray set is rather slim at this point, the DVD one will have to do. Gotta complete the Magnum P.I. collection.
