    Bridging head unit amp?

Thanks Anthony, I have come to that conclusion, too. I read on a post, probably on a car forum, that someone bridged their amp and I assumed they meant the amp in the HU. I can' find the post but I bet they were talking about a separate amp as you suggested. I'll see how satisfied I am with...

    Bridging head unit amp?

Thanks Brent, I agree 100%! I was just wondering if anyone had a HU they knew was bridgable since I am in the market for a new unit. Joe

    Bridging head unit amp?

I'm replacing my head unit in my car because the current one is broken. I only have two speakers but all the head units are 4 channels (20W X 4). I have looked into specs and owners manuals with no luck. Does anyone know of a HU brand that allows amp bridging (ie 40W X 2). Thanks, Joe

B&W CDM SNT wall mounting brackets

Abe, Sorry I missed this when you posted. My CDM SNT is exactly as you described and it's two years old. I mounted it like you said, like a picture frame with a large screw into the stud that can't slip through the hole. It is really fine, the speaker is so heavy it doesn't move any. I'm...

    A question about ohm's

Be careful relying on the 4/8 ohm switch. The only switch like this I've ever seen on a schematic soley redirected the speakers when both A and B speakers were engaged. If it was set to 4, A and B were placed in series, set to 8, they were in parallel. There was no connection to the amplifier...

Help on home made component cables

I just bought all the items listed in the site Lynn linked to. I made audio (RCA) cables using the LV-77S RG6 and video cables using the L-5CFB RG6. The expense was quite high and the initial results were terrible!!! But I got the hang of it after throwing one audio cable away. My household has...

    B&W: 600's vs. CDM

Geoff, I can't tell you whether the difference is worth the money, but I can tell you why I chose the 7NT over the 602's. I reviewed the 602's, 7NT, 9NT, and 805's. The music I used to review was very precise. I focused many times on a bell in one of the passages (Several very expensive...

    Rotel 1066 Users...

Andrew, Thanks for being our voice to Rotel. I'm expecting my Rotel equipment Friday and I like getting all this information, both good and not so good. (But mostly good!) Joe

    Money Allocation

Mat, I asked a similar question long ago and nobody really wanted to go out and answer it. I agree, there is no answer, but I'll take a stab. I have spent the same on my pre/pro and 5 channel amp as I did on my front three speakers. And I plan to keep this configuration for awhile. Spending...

    Rotel, Lexicon, or Meridian

Vicky, B&W middle speakers are shielded (at least the one's I am familiar with). Left and right aren't but you should be able to get them far enough from the TV so it won't matter. I understand your frustration over availability. When I travel I stop in Audio stores in other cities so I can...

    1070 or 1075 amp with 1055 receiver?

Alex, I am exactly where you are on this subject, trying to figure out which configuration to purchase. I have included the Outlaw 950 and the Rotel 1066 in my equation just to make things more difficult. My dealer has nothing in his shop either. Definitely try out "Club Rotel" linked above...

    YET ANOTHER anti-Bose thread! :-D

Hey, I love these threads. Instead of people bickering about whose system is best, we can all unite and come together with a common "Bose Sucks" montra!! And you college kids studying marketing, pay attention to what Bose has done. The general public (Joe six pack?)has tons of money and...

    B & W onwers....please

Brad, I'm using an older Yamaha receiver. I'm in the market for a new receiver or pre-amp/power amp now. Rotel seems to be leading right now. Joe
