Robert, the 2020 Special Edition Blu-ray from KL was advertised as being from a "brand new 2K master".
Did they yet perform another scan in the meantime in 4K or is this an upscale with HDR added?
There are a few films looking esthetically way better open matte compared to the matted 1:1.85 A/R.
One of these films is "The Far Country". Looks terribly claustrophobic in it's matted version.

First, let me express many thanks for releasing two great Edward G. Robinson movies, "Night has a Thousand Eyes" and "All My Sons". The new scan of "Night has a Thousand Eyes" was just perfect for my taste.... ;-)

Hi Roland. Yes, the extended version is anamorphic in 720p/24. What they probably did is to downrez the 1080p picture from the theatrical cut to 720p and uprez the digimaster used for the laserdisc to 720p to insert the additional sequences.
