I could go about this in 2 ways - I could be snobby or I could be realistic. The snobby part of me says: The HiFi is boatload of white shiny garbage that isnt worth 1/5 its asking price. The more realistic part of me says: The HiFi sounds better than any of the single unit iPod speaker...
Krell KSA-50S ($1000) http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....ran&1127174014 - Pure Class A @ 50w/8ohm (down to 400w/1ohm WOW!). - No caps in output path. or Krell KST-100 ($1000) http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....ran&1126843222 - 100w/8ohms (down to 800w/1ohm) via Class A...
Help me choose an amp for under a $1000. I have looked at some Outlaw offerings but I dont like the way the amp looks (I'm sure it sounds good though). Right now I have an HK330 and I want an amp that can better power the LSi9 that I have. I would like a 5 channel amp though. Right...
Whatever you do.. Polks are the way to go. The RTi series definitely kick it especially with such a good price/performance ration IMO. The LSI are the way to go for a 2 channel system. Pack a good amp with the LSI and its over... game over.
Oh dont worry.. in time you will. Start low then go high, this way, you will appreciate the high-end cans like the 650s even more. There is a certain beauty to listening to headphones vs speakers. I like to sit around my computer at night and listen to music on my headphones - I could never do...
LOL... no I dont need two! I only have 1 set of ears! I couldnt pass up a deal on the refurb 650s so I got a pair, but I will be selling my brand new ones for close to what I paid... so, in essence, I'm saving myself a ton of cash. If I actually had a job, then maybe I would require TWO...
Matt, I seriously think you should go for the refurbs. I just bought another pair of the HD650s today from ecost that are refurbed. $239 instead of the $499 that it usually sells at. I know Sennheiser warrants it for a year and the ear padding and headband is newly replaced for every...
The HD555 dont lack brightness - I can tell you that much. Also, being uninvolving is a mind-set NOT an inherent problem with the headphones. I tried to be "not fun" with my 650s - I can do that. I'll just sit here and not involve myself with the music. I can sit here and be "not fun" with my...
I'm sure the Quiet Comfort II are good in the sense that it blocks sound - but they dont sound as good as headphones along the same price range. That being said, they do cancel noise very well and this is certainly A PRIORITY when on a plane while SQ being second in this instance.
Have I done a direct comparison with the Grado SR60 and my HD555? No. Have I heard the SR60 - yes, my friend owns one. I still say HD555 over the SR60. Better build quality, better comfort, better sound (my opinion). I find the SR60 to be very upfront (awesome WOW factor) but it...
