Wouldn't the aspect ratio of a 4:3 game on a 16:9 screen remain 4:3? That is, you'll get black bars on the side? The image wouldn't be distorted, and it'll be the biggest 4:3 screen possible on that 16:9. I have my XBox connected to my Sony 36XBR800, and the TV switches from 16:9 mode to 4:3...
Did you see Ricky Gervais in town last week (and on David Letterman) when the DVD for the first series came on sale here in the U.S.? I do agree that unlike the first series, BBCA isn't showing an advert for it every 10 mins! And yes, it's a shame that they're not preserving the aspect ratio...
They kept showing the episode with the guy doing the backflip gone awry again and each and every time I see that, I laugh my ass off. I TiVo'd it and I laugh my ass off each time I see that scene. That, and then the interview with his kid... This show is priceless!!!
There is no extra cost for having the TiVo use the internet (via USB adapter) rather than a phone line (outside the cost of the USB adapter itself, of course).
Thanks for the responses. I haven't seen any of the 2.4Ghz wireless ones, which I wouldn't mind taking a look at. Any particular ones come to mind? I was wondering if they had headphone amps - but I didn't even know where to look for them. Any ideas? Thanks again!
I initially thought of getting wireless headphones for my TV but thought to go the route of just using my regular wired headphones with an extension cord. The problem is that I am not getting a loud enough signal as I would like through the headphones. I have a Sony KV-36XBR800, and attached a Y...
Are they really discontinuing the 40XBR800? I know that they discontinued the 36XBR800, which I have - but I was under the impression that they were keeping the 40 inch as their only 4:3 XBR in their line. Especially since it's the largest 4:3 direct view out there. The Sony site still shows the...
On my Wega, the video input labeling is simply the option to choose a different pre-defined on-screen label for each input source. That is, instead of it saying "Video 1" - you can choose it to say "Satellite" or "Cable Box" on the screen when you choose that respective source to make it easier...
Well, if you saw my posts in this thread, you know I was jockeying between the KV-36XBR800 and the 46" 16:9 HD RPTV from Sony (which weren't even the sets I was initially looking at, I might add). So, what did I do? I decided to go with the 36XBR800. I just fell in love with it after seeing it...
I don't have any help but I hear what you're saying. I just managed to move my Sony 36" 36XBR800 to the third floor where I live with extensive help. It weighs about 240lbs and the very difficult part was that the staircase wasn't too wide and the hairpin turns were difficult to navigate. So...
