Best Connection for Sub to Kenwood VR505?

Hello Gentlemen, I have a question about this setup. Sean when you say "Sub-Out" from the receiver is that "Pre-sub out" or just "Sub-out"? I know it sounds like a dumb question but on a VR-506 this an option. I was just wondering I'm still green at this.

I need help with the Kenwood VR-509

Thanks to everybody for your valuable input. I am going to look into the cable converter that might to the trick. I have done some experimenting and found when I take the T.V. out of "Home Theater mode" I can get video from cable and S-video but I have to use two remotes. Compared to when the...

First time subwoofer setup help needed.

O.K. Just to confirm, I run the RCA cable with the Y-adapter (Pre-Out) from my receiver to LINE IN into my sub right? What about the main speakers that are hook up thru the cross over jacks on the sub should I unhook them and just run them thru the receiver as well?

First time subwoofer setup help needed.

Hello Bob and Allen, I have a question on this topic. I just picked up my first sub and not to sure on proper location or setup. Would using the crossover be better than just the "line out" jacks that feed into the receiver? I'm still a little green but learning fast. :)

    Cerwin Vega LW-12

Hello Colin & George, I purchased a CW sub and I was wondering what would you use the "Line Out". I am still green at this and it is my first sub so I what to ask first instead of trying something that could do damage.

    S-video out to T.V. (Part 2)

Yes, but when the T.V. is in lets say "none HT mode" I have to select the input on my T.V. remote to S-video then my receiver remote to Video 2 "not DVD 6CH or DVD/CD". It defeats the purpose of the universal remote, but that is one of the drawbacks of my receiver (Kenwood VR-506) :frowning...

    S-video out to T.V. (Part 2)

Hi Mike, I tried the setup with the T.V. in regular mode and works the only problem is that it is a remote nightmare. I think there might be a better way I going to the haredware section of the forum to see if maybe there is something my receiver can do for me. Thanks again and let me know if...

    s-Video Out To TV

Hi Mike, I will give it a shot. The S-video on the T.V. is an input, the reason I think this is that I can hook up my DVD directly to my T.V. all of the other ports are EXT-1,EXT-2 and Tuner out. I will let you know how it goes.

    s-Video Out To TV

The T.V. is a Mitsubishi 36" and when I go into the menu I select home theater ON and when in this mode I don't use the input button on the T.V. but the input selector on the receiver. I can get DTS mode but to get regular cable T.V. I have to unplug the S-video cable from the back of the T.V...

    s-Video Out To TV

Hi Mike,Not picture quality but the all video. I put the T.V. in "HT" mode and run one S-video cable from the T.V. to receiver and another S-video from DVD to receiver that is when I lose the picture. If I unplug S-video from T.V. and use RCA cables then picture comes back but sound is not the...
