according to the marketing literature the new Marantz DV6400 does not convert. Sellin in my area for 499.

Joel, what SACD player did you replace and how does the sound on the 6400 compare?

I saw the new Marantz dv6400 at a dealer's on Wed. He was just hooking it up. List price is $600. He said he would probably be selling it for 540. Did not get chance to hear much and he was going to break it in for a few days. It DVD A and SACD but I don't know much more than that.

Marantz has started shipping these to dealers.

I'm also considering giving h rez a shot.. What CD player and receiver were you using before you switched?

I'm not sure about the SR14 but on my Marantz I have a number of digital inputs and also multichannel analog inputs. The analog inputs are what you are suppose to use for SACD DVD/A. YOu need to hook it up with RCA connectors
