If I recall correctly, David Simon elected to have this season shot 4:3 for continuity with the previous seasons, keep the look & feel the same through all five.
Hmm, apparently they will be replaying this before next week's episode on Wednesday night. I think I will wait to hear others' feedback before watching. From the description it sounds like there might be some spoilers, and I try to avoid them, even coming from the producers.
It seems like there is some confusion here about VOD and playback from DVR HD. For example, on my Comcast box the DVR playback can do FF4, but for VOD it only does 2x FF. Also, Chris, without the cable box can you access VOD?
When watching it the first time through I thought I saw someone else in the room for half a second during the crazy cabin shaking part. So, I went back and watched the scene in slow-mo and there are definitely a couple frames where you can see someone sitting in the chair, looks to be an older...
I'm a week behind on this show, too (although hoping to catch up in the next night or two). But I don't think the trailer park people were in on it. First, we know that the Riches didn't trust their acting ability so that would have been one more chance for them to blow the cover. Second, this...
Were the two guys from the very end of last season (ones who saw signal and called Penny) also speaking Portugese? When I first saw this new parachute girl, she looked South American to me and that was who I immediately though of, although I may be completely off since it has been almost a year.
I thought Gredenko's agreement just said that they wouldn't send him back to Russia, not that he got full immunity. It seemed to me like he saw this as a convenient way to escape, and probably his last chance to do so. Plus, he probably knows that behind Fayed there are others willing to go...
I caught it and liked it quite a bit. It has a very "Big Love" feel to it for me: family struggling to break away from a "unique" family/community and dealing with "normal" people. I'll definitely be tuning in next week.
I liked the two sneaky reveals in the flashbacks, too: 1. Earl forgetting his peeing on the rug incident (I knew his Mom looked too old there) 2. Earl causing the Crab Man to get stoned.
If Desmond mentions that he was the crazy guy then Charlie might get it, but I would imagine Charlie remembers the experience more than that crazy guy's face. QUOTE: Here is my question. If Desmond is having flashes of Charlie dying, is he still living in the "past". i.e. has he had this...
I agree Chucky, the ending really saved the episode for me. I thought it was a little slower and not quite as funny as the premiere, but the fight and Sarah's lesson learned at the end, if you help people they will just end up trying to stab you to death, redeemed it for me.
I know on many boxes there is an internal menu setting (have to input code on remote, not user-accessible) where the cable guy can set the output for various inputs (720p, 1080i, etc). I know this because I have the same box in my living room (HD) and my bedroom (SD) and I watched him change the...
