    Tumult EQ....

Thanks Wayne: I was WAY off then. I will plug Dan's #'s into the BFD tonight and re-take measurements afterwards. I'll post them back here Monday and maybe we can tweak further if warranted. Later, Jeff S. :) :emoji_thumbsup:

    Tumult EQ....

Thanks Dan and Wayne: Could you tell me how to convert "Q" values into the X/60 bandwidth values used by the BFD? My GUESS would be that one "Q" = one octave or 60/60ths bandwidth. Am I way far off in this assumption? The Mackie amp that I'm using to power the Tumult has a continuosly...

    Tumult EQ....

Hey There Wayne: Here's the new measurements I took last night, with the other sub turned off. This time it does not look so flat. The first time I measured it and got a relatively flat response must have been some kind of anomaly as I and others had suspected. It WAS too good to be true. I...

    is it possible to build....

VU-meters?? I'm using a Behringer UltraCurve (DSP-8024) on my subs that has neat LCD bar graphs for each channel for input or output. It also has a red light clip indicator that comes on in that event. Essentially a VU-meter... The BFD I am also using on my two subs also has LED banks of...

    BFD results.

Howdy Folks: Could someone please explain to me how I get my sub's numbers INTO Anthony Gomez's spreadsheet? Do I have to import some files from someplace (where?) or can I just enter my frequencies? (Where?) http://www.pvconsultants.com/audio/eq/peq.htm Thanks, Jeff S.

    Tumult EQ....

Unless the sub in question was 180 degrees out-of-phase. Notice that a lot of subs (including mine) have only a 180 degree phase control flip switch? All that thing does is switch the polarity. Seems to me that there would be no point to having one of those phase switches on your sub if it did...

    Tumult EQ....

PS I also ran the Axial Standing Wave Calculator on my room and it comes up with peaks at 47 and 71 Hz (as well as 28 Hz). 48 Hz is exactly where one of the peaks is centered in my measurements, and 71 Hz is where the second peak starts. I guess that thing works...

    Tumult EQ....

I know exactly what you mean. It occurred to me as I was posting that if I tried to EQ the Tumult (LFE) sub while the center sub is simultaneously running, several situations could occur: e.g., IF the Tumult sub was already completely flat going in, I could very well be compensating for peaks...

    Tumult EQ....

Howdy folks: Could someone suggest a few BFD filters to apply to these measurements I took (uncorrected) for my sub (see below)? I notice there's a couple of nasty peaks centered around 48 and 80 Hz. Looks to me like they're about 15 dB above the rest of the curve... During testing my...

    Denon 2900.....I sure love it

Vladimir: That was me that posted the following comment from an e-mail Mr. Underwood sent me, to wit: "PS, Don't buy a 5900 as the only difference over the 2900 is on the video side. They sound the same. Walter" Walter Liederman [email protected] Phone-770-667-5633...

    Denon 2900.....I sure love it

Hi Trevor: I would be quite interested to know how it sounds once you fire it up. Did you perchance have a good listen to the stock 2900 so you have an idea of what the "pre-modified sound" is like?? Thanks, Jeff S.:)

    Denon 2900.....I sure love it

Thanks Trevor for summing up the relative sonic merits of these 3 Denon DVD players. I think that for me it will not come down strictly to an issue of which model sounds the best (although sonics IS my main concern), but whether extra money for that $1800-$2200 2900 mod is going to be spent...

Problem with a Yamaha DSP A1

I've got a DSP-A1. Have never had that problem except ONCE. It turned out that the banana plugs to my right main Klipschorn's bass bin had come loose, and only at elevated volume the floor would shake enough to vibrate the ends of the wires together briefly and shut off the amp (protection...

    Denon 2900.....I sure love it

THANK YOU VLADIMIR!! You hit the nail square on the head. Trevor, we were not trying to compare fruits (apples and oranges), but DVD players. Thanks again for your astute observations and comments, Vlad my man. Jeff S.;)
