    TriStar snipe, long version?

Slightly off topic, but if anyone wants to watch a 3D animated spoof some friends and I made of the old TriStar short, check out 'Cutting Room Chore'. We made what we thought a blooper reel from the filming of it would have looked like. It's the one on the left of the movies page here...

Jurassic Park DTS: A Favor Please...

I was about to order this disc, and I'm surprised to hear people are still getting the older version. Can anyone recommend a retailer (online or otherwise) that is stocking the new version? -Jason

HT Survey (please help us with a new product idea)

Again, thanks to all who filled out the survey. We had a great number of responses, and we should be able to make some accurate projections, thanks to all of you. I've requested that Ron turn this back into a normal thread so it can die out (thank you again Ron!!!). I'm hoping that I'll be able...

HT Survey (please help us with a new product idea)

Hello all, Ron was nice enough to allow me to post this link to a home theater software survey being conducted by a few friends and myself. The purpose of the survey is to assist us with some projections relating to a new product idea that we think will benefit the HT community. If the...

Thanks Kevin. So it sounds like I'm outta luck on the screen modes? -Jason

Does a Toshiba 40H80 work with a Pronto?

Ken, I did look on there, and unfortunately the results were a bit vague (which is why I was hoping to get some clarification). Under the Discrete Code section it lists on/off codes with the heading "Only for newer models such as H81 & HX81", so I'm not sure if the 40H80 qualifies. In the...

Does a Toshiba 40H80 work with a Pronto?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it in the search. Is anyone using a Pronto with their 40H80? I'm specifically interested in whether or not I can switch the inputs and screen modes (Full, Normal, TheaterWide 1,2,3). It's my understanding that a Pronto can do...

    PSB Image speakers

I bought a set of Image speakers recently (4T, 8C, 1B), and I went with the Alpha Subsonic 5. For the size room I have (12 x 14) it's plenty, and it sounds great. If I recall, their website says the Subsonic 6, which is part of the Image line, is for a very large room. I don't think you'll be...

Check out my animated short on iFilm!!!

Hi everyone... if you have a minute, please check out the 3D animated short myself and a couple of friends made. It's up on iFilm. If you remember the old TriStar pictures horse, you'll get the joke. It's called Cutting Room Chore. Thanks...

just purchased a PSB Image 8C

I just got one too, so far I'm pleased with it. Dialogue is clear, and not harsh sounding at all (but a lot of that seems to depend on the receiver you use with it). I'm not sure about your price, as I got it as part of a complete Image series package. -Jason

    Marantz SR5200

I was also seriously considering the 5200 until I realized that it doesn't have any component video inputs/outputs. Am I mistaken about that? I was planning to use them with whichever receiver I buy. I was planning to use then with PSB Image 4T's etc... the nice warm sound of the Marantz...

Easy way to cover speaker and power wires on floor

I got some beige ones at Home Depot that look very inconspicuous. They seem to be intended for lamps and things, but they hold two heavy Monster Cable speaker wires quite well. They're tubular with double stick tape on a flattened side. The tube only curves about 320 degrees or so, so there's...
