ThomasW I built a clone of your klone using a Tumult and I agree that the 6" port does indeed look cool. The added benefit, of course, is no chuffing at ear-splitting, sinus pounding levels. Even though the model indicated port airspeed may be a problem in my combo, I can still hear no chuffing.
I know its not the same, but I do have a rather large walk-up attic. I agree that alot of mid/eastern VA homes do not have basements. The soil is unsuitable and the ground is too flat.
SethH Unfortunately, Short Pump is one of the great places to live so real estate prices are escalating through the roof. All things being relative, real estate here is still much cheaper than in NY. Howeveer, Short Pump is where the money is. This may make the area attractive to an art gallary.
I live a little west of Richmond in a community called Short Pump (really). There is an all outdoor mall there called the Short Pump Town Center. There is a lot of disposable income in the Short Pump area. Short Pump Town Center There are many other retailer in this community that...
Shiu The 52TXs current draw is listed as 480 watts. You have no doubt seen the review results. What difference does this make. It is just an excuse for criticism of the power output. They don't know how that 480 watts rating was derived and neither do I. Until someone can post something...
Ryan Sorry. I hope you didn't take too much offense. My annoyance wasn't that high. I have always had a problem with people posting things like "others", "most" and "everybody". I didn't mean to really single you out. It is just a pet peeve of mine.
Ryan Now it "others". Before it was "most". I know that you want to present things so that readers think that "everyone" is on your side. This annoys me. How do you know how the 480 watts was determined. It is not written on the back of the receiver. Is it one channel driven? Is it five...
Perhaps someone could post actual fact and not conjecture as to how the wattage rating is obtained listed on the back of the 1014TX. Then the argument will be settled. The owners manual for the 52TX lists its wattage consumption at 480 watts as well. Yet in the review linked above it makes...
Ryan Interesting use of "most" in your reply. You should back up your assertion with facts. Are most people using the 1014TX saying that it is overrated, or are there one or two sceptics on one thread? Here is a link review of the Pioneer Elite 52TX home theater receiver...
John S The amplifiers in the 1014TX are not digital. Pioneer describes the amplifier structure in the 1014TX as Advanced Direct Energy Mosfet. The 1014TX was the only regular Pioneer to use this amplifier structure. I got this info from a Pioneer brochure .pdf that I downloaded from Pioneer's...
I have an Adire Audio Tumult in a 178 liter enclosure tuned to 19.5 hertz with a 1,000 watt plate amp powering it. The Incredibles caused my amp to clip. Monsters Inc. is the only other movie to make my amp clip. I was watching The Incredibles at 5db below reference levels. I was watching my...
